Book groups for November
The Wood County District Public Library's November book discussion groups are listed below:
• Wednesday, Nov. 6 - Read for Inspiration, led by Deb Born, discusses "A Woman's Place" by Lynn Austin.
• Monday, Nov. 18 - Monday Mysteries discusses Sandra Parshall's "The Heat of the Moon," led by Mary Callahan Boone and Doris Ann Norris.
• Thursday, Nov. 21 - Coffee Talk book group, led by Kristin Wetzel talks about Carol Rifka Brunt's "Tell the Wolves I'm Home."
• Tuesday, Nov. 26 - Just the Facts nonfiction book group, facilitated by Anne Render, will discuss "The Nine" by Jeffrey Toobin.
Copies of the groups' books are available to check-out from the library approximately four weeks prior to the discussion dates. Most of the library's groups will take breaks for the holiday season following their November meetings. However, Read For Inspiration will meet Dec. 4 to discuss Donna VanLiere's "The Christmas Promise."
New Geist book signings slated
Jean Ann Geist will be signing her novels, "Only on the Radio" and "Only in the Movies," at the Caf√© Havana, 309 S. Main St., Bowling Green, next Thursday, Nov. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Geist will also be signing her books at My Daily Grind, 120 Louisiana Ave., Perrysburg, on Nov. 9, a Saturday, from noon to 3 p.m.
The author will be available to discuss her writing and publishing ventures at both signings.
Dettmer has two book talks
Bowling Green author Herb Dettmer will be giving a presentation on his book "Others" both next Wednesday and Nov. 20 at 4 p.m. at the Wood County Senior Center, 305 N. Main St., Bowling Green.
At this Meet the Author event, Dettmer will host a discussion group on his book inspired by the writings of Herbert Fish. Books will be available to purchase.
