NAMI speaker to tell changes in coverage for mental illness
With the state of Ohio’s recent expansion of Medicaid, thousands of additional Ohioans will be covered for mental health care services.  Betsy Johnson of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Ohio will explain the impact of this change at NAMI Wood County’s education night Nov. 6 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Wood County District Public Library.
Johnson will also speak about proposed clarifications to Ohio’s existing Court-Ordered Outpatient Treatment Law (Senate Bill 43 and House Bill 14.)
Space at the event is limited, and NAMI Wood County recommends those interested make a reservation by calling the office at 419-352-0626.
As part of its mission to help all those affected by mental illness better navigate the mental health system, NAMI Wood County hosts education nights regularly.  One of over 1,100 NAMI affiliates nationwide, the organization has provided education, advocacy and support for families touched by mental illness for over 25 years.
