Jacobs family holds 41-year reunion
PEMBERVILLE - The 41st Jacobs family reunion was held on July 28 at the Riverbank Party Centre. There were 100 family members present for the potluck dinner and chicken barbecued by Mark, Al and Hannah Jacobs, Sue Glass, and Ricky Riley, using Harley Jacobs' recipe.
Three of the ten siblings of George and Bessie (Ford) Jacobs survive and attended the reunion: Florence Hummel. 97, Ruth Riley, 91, and Harley Jacobs, 86.
Twenty-four of the 37 surviving first cousins were present with their families.  The first cousins who traveled the farthest were Kenny Jacobs from South Dakota, Barbara (Mock) Moore from Nevada, and Mary (Mock) Bowden and her husband, Jim, from Tennessee.
A business meeting was held after the meal followed by a Chinese raffle and bingo.  Everyone enjoyed the fellowship and look forward to next year's reunion.
