Costume designer Burnham to visit Salon Hazelton
PERRYSBURG - Vinilla "Vin" Burnham, international costume designer, will visit Salon Hazelton this Saturday. Her work has been seen in feature films, television, commercials, theatre, opera and ballet. She created the Batsuit, Penguin and Catwoman costumes for the movie Batman Returns and most recently, Lady Gaga's "Living Dress."  
During her visit to Salon Hazelton at 131 W. Indiana Ave., Burnham will get a facial and hair style. She will also visit Fresh Nails on Third Street.
On Jan. 25 Burnham will attend the Fashion Show Extravaganza, sponsored by Salon Hazelton, at The Pinnacle in Maumee. She will briefly discuss her work and be a guest judge for a fashion showcase by area amateur and professional designers.
Burnham got her first break at the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden. More recently she ran her own studio in West London. She has made creatures for Jim Henson's Creature Shop in London and Aslan the Lion for the BBC production of The Chronicles of Narnia. She recently launched "The Little Costume Shop," a collection of miniature opera and ballet costumes, and "The Little Wedding Dress Shop," which recreates wedding dresses in quarter scale, both housed at Covent Garden.

Singles dance Sunday
HOLLAND - Glass City Singles will host a dance party for area adult singles and couples this Sunday from 6 until 10 p.m. at Holland Gardens, 6530 Angola Road. This will be a Martin Luther King holiday weekend celebration.

The Crossroads Quilters will meet Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. at St. James United Methodist Church in North Baltimore.
