Planned Pethood, like other local shelters and rescues, is busting at the seams with cats and kittens. To help find as many homes as possible, Planned Pethood is teaming up with the Toledo Area Humane Society (TAHS) to offer the public cats and kittens for $30 on Wednesday.
TAHS will hold special adoption events from 2-7 p.m. at the Petco store on South Main Street in Bowling Green and the PetsSmart in Rossford, as well as the animal shelter on Indian Wood Circle.
At the same time, Planned Pethood will host Toledo events at the Anderson's Store on Talmadge Road and at the Petsmart in Spring Meadows off of Airport Highway.
"We're hoping specials like this and grants for free spay/neuter will make strides in the overpopulation problem," says Karen Latta, cat intake coordinator.  All adoptable animals are spay/neutered and up to date on all age-appropriate vaccines.
Planned Pethood has $94,000 in grant funds available for those living in the 43605 zip code with cats that need to be spay/neutered, made possible from PetSmart Charities.
As a no-kill organization, Planned Pethood, Inc. provides medical treatment and behavioral rehabilitation for animals that come into its care and offers adoptable animals to the public.
The organization works to bring spayed and neutered animals of all ages to people who will provide suitable homes and loving care.  The organization strives toward solving the overpopulation problem by pro-actively offering low and no-cost spay/neuter options.
