Bowling Green has gotten a mention in the current edition of a national food magazine.

The May 2013 copy of Food Network Magazine contains a special Travel section.

Under the headline "You should pull over to eat," readers are advised: "Shove so much as a french fry into your mouth while driving through Huron, S.D., and you could get slapped with a ticket: It's now illegal to eat behind the wheel there. Other cities, including Bowling Green, OH, and Oak Park, IL, have considered similar legislation based on food-related accident statistics.

"According to one estimate, about 30 percent of distracted-driving accidents involve food. The most dangerous thing to consume in the car? Hot coffee."

The Bowling Green reference appears on page 3 of the magazine's Travel pull-out.

Another feature on the same page examines car air fresheners that smell like yummy foods such as a vanilla cream cupcake
