National Project Linus Blanket Day will be held on Tuesday at Quilt Heaven.
The mission of Project Linus is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade, washable blankets and afghans, crafted by volunteers.
Quilts for children in need will be assembled at 8177 Secor Road, Lambertville, Mich. The community is invited.
Anyone who can learn to tie a square knot may join in the fun any time between 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
During the 2012 Quilt-A-Thon over 60 blankets were made by 23 volunteers. This year's goal is to complete 100 blankets and to have 40 volunteers.
The Toledo area chapter of Project Linus started 10 years ago.  The volunteer organization has now delivered 4,815 blankets to children in our area.
