Hospital Guild holiday sale opens Thursday PDF Print E-mail

The Wood County Hospital Guild will host its annual holiday sale on Thursday and Friday in the meeting rooms at the hospital, which are near the cafeteria.
Sale hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.
The sale will feature seasonal decorations, Santas and snowmen, festive serving ware, Christmas trees, decorative sprays and unique gifts.
There will be stocking stuffers for men, women and children to help complete your shopping list.
As always, the sale will include sparkly purses, scarves and jewelry, as well as distinctive ponchos.
The ever popular bake sale will include homemade jams, jellies, cookies, cakes, pies and candy. Dietch's candy and nuts will be offered, along with a new line of dips and soups.

Women's Center topics: 50 Shades of Gray, women and AIDS PDF Print E-mail

The Fall 2013 Brown Bag speaker series at the Women's Center at Bowling Green State University continues on Wednesday, with five more presentations slated for the remainder of the semester.
Each program runs from noon to 1 p.m. in the center, 107 Hanna Hall. Those attending may bring a lunch if they wish.
On Wednesday Samantha Martin will discuss "Shifting Perceptions: Cross-Cultural Service Learning on the Navajo Nation" in recognition of American Indian Heritage Month.
Also slated:
• Nov. 13 - "'We Aim to Please:' Fifty Shades of Grey as Cultural Phenomenon" by presenter Brittany Knisely, Popular Culture.

Wood County Hospital to host Ladies Day Out PDF Print E-mail

Area women are invited to attend Ladies Day Out, a free, half-day women's health program hosted by Wood County Hospital on Nov. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The morning will be filled with health information of concern to women from the health experts at Wood County Hospital and other medical organizations. Other activities include health screenings, exhibits, refreshments and prizes.
The program includes three breakout sessions that cover a variety of topics including: Eating Healthy on a Budget, Communicating with your Aging Relatives, Gluten Free Eating, and Inspiration through Relaxation, Skin Care, and Preparing for a Disaster. Participants can select the three sessions of their choice.
