Singles dance to pair nachos, Thanksgiving
HOLLAND - Glass City Singles will host a Thanksgiving Day dance this Friday from 8 p.m. until midnight at Holland Gardens, 6530 Angola Road. There will be a Nachos Night theme.
Admission is $8 and open to all area singles 21 and over. Women wearing red will receive $1 off admission until 8:30.

Scott and Sandy Jess, Pemberville, and Bill Lorenzen, Bowling Green, announce the engagement of their daughter, Carrie Louise, to Andrew Michael Derr, son of Brian and Lea Derr, Risingsun.
The bride-to-be is a 2009 graduate of Eastwood High School and a 2012 graduate of Bowling Green State University with a B.S. in Health Care Administration. She is currently employed as the business manager at Bowling Green Care Center.
Her fiance is a 2006 graduate of Lakota High School and a 2012 graduate of BGSU with a B.S. in Business Administration. He is presently employed by Huntington Bank in Bowling Green.
A June 14, 2014 wedding is planned at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pemberville.

The Bowling Green Pregnancy Center Board of Directors has hired a new executive director.
Shelly Burkhart, who replaces Lynette Worthy as center director, comes to Bowling Green from the Pregnancy Center of Greater Toledo. There she served as the client services director for the past two and a half years.
A native of Bedford, Mich., Burkhart currently resides in Waterville and has a background in both ministry and banking.
"I worked for Cedar Creek Church (in Perrysburg) for seven years" and for St. Timothy Episcopal Church, also in Perrysburg, for two years before that.
She started her career with 19 years in the banking business. "I started with Toledo Trust and went through five mergers" with the bank.
"Shelly is thrilled to be our new executive director and has an incredible passion for women, the unborn and to help post-abortive women heal," notes center board member Veronica Urban.

Jillan D. Renollet and Brent J. Bodey were united in marriage Sept. 7 at Solomon Lutheran Church, Woodville.
Pastor Kristina Ahlman conducted the 3:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Lewis and Pam Renollet, Pemberville. The groom's parents are Phillip and Mary Bodey, Woodville.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white beaded lace trumpet gown with cap sleeves. She chose an elbow-length veil with beaded edge.
Hannah Renollet, Pemberville, was the maid of honor for her sister.
Bridesmaids were Haley Bassett and sisters of the bride Michelle Renollet and Madison Renollet, all of Pemberville. The attendants all wore pale blue strapless chiffon gowns cut just above the knee.
Cora Renollet of Pemberville, sister of the bride, was junior bridesmaid. She wore a pale green chiffon gown with above-the-knee hemline.

Chris and Deb Carter, Bowling Green, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kayla Marie, to Michael James Shriner, son of Larry Shriner, Waterville, and Jill Shriner, Bowling Green.
The bride-to-be graduated from Bowling Green High School in 2010 and expects to graduate from the University of Toledo in May 2014 with a B.S. in Criminal Justice.
Shriner graduated from Anthony Wayne High School in 2007 and is currently employed at Hanson Aggregates in Sylvania.
They are planning a Sept. 20, 2014 wedding at Holland Gardens.
