A Bowling Green "mommy blogger" has been invited to be one of 20 bloggers to represent the United Nations Foundation's Shot@Life campaign. It is designed to raise awareness and funds for global immunization. Kirsty Sayer has been writing her blog, which features stories about her family - including five children - and Bowling Green, since 2007. The campaign started May 8 and ends this Saturday. "We are coinciding it with Mother's Day because we believe every mother deserves the chance to have access to the basic necessities to keep their kids healthy," Sayer said. Every 20 minutes a child dies of an illness that is preventable by proper vaccinations. It costs $20 to fully immunize a child for a lifetime of protection.
