See 50 different quilts and enjoy demonstrations of various quilting techniques at the Black Swamp
Quilters Guild Exhibit during the 22nd Annual Art Walk in Bowling Green on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5
p.m.
Hosted by the Busy Thimble, the exhibit is located at 148 S. Main St. , with an entrance in the alley
next to Panera Bread.
The detailed hand-made quilts range from crib quilts to wall hangings to full size bed coverings. Guild
members will be on site working on new creations and doing appliqué, hand quilting, and machine piecing
demonstrations throughout the day.
The Black Swamp Quilters Guild is 120 members strong and prides itself on participating in many service
activities in the area. In 2013 the guild donated 200 quilts to various charities it supports including
the Children’s Resource Center of Wood County, the Cocoon Shelter, the Wood County Historical Society,
the Ronald McDonald House, and St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
The quilt exhibit is free and open to the public.
It is a part of the 22nd Annual Art Walk presented by Downtown Bowling Green and the Bowling Green Arts
Council, sponsored in part by Aardvark Screen Printing and Embroidery and Agile Oasis Technologies.
