Business and Professional Women of Ohio member Victoria Kontos has been named the 2013 BPW/Ohio Young Careerist by the state organization.
Kontos is employed as an admissions and financial aid counselor for Bowling Green State University.  She also manages a scholarship program at BGSU.
Her community activities include the Teen Leadership Corps and serving on the Board of the Directors for Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity.
She represented BPW Region One, northwest Ohio, at the competition held recently in Boardman. The selection process included an individual interview by a panel of three judges, an evaluated group discussion on women's issues, and a four-minute prepared speech presented to the approximately 50 women in attendance.  Kontos will give her speech at the BPW/Ohio Annual Conference in Canton in May, and again at the Women's Professional Empowerment Alliance Conference in Pittsburgh in July.
A 2008 graduate of Baldwin Wallace College, she is from Sandusky.
Founded in 1919, Business and Professional Women is a multi-generational, nonpartisan membership organization, which promotes equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information.
Established as the first organization to focus on issues of working women, BPW is historically a leader in grassroots activism, policy influence and advocacy for millions of women in the workplace.
