Bowling Green’s second annual Fashion, Food & Fine Art Luncheon to support women’s
scholarships will be held April 27. Sam B’s Restaurant at 163 S. Main St., with its PRIZM Creative Community
art exhibit, is the setting for the event.Luncheon attendees will enjoy informal modeling, receive goody
bags and have the chance to win prizes donated by sponsors and downtown businesses.Seatings for the luncheon
are at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and include three menu choices. Funds raised at the event
benefit scholarship programs run by the Bowling Green Women’s Club, and the BG branches of Zonta and the
American Association of University Women.Tickets are currently available at downtown businesses including
art-a-site!, BG Hats & Apparel, Coyote Beads & Jewelry, and Grounds for Thought. They can
also be purchased from members of the three clubs, from the Downtown Bowling Green office at 121 E. Wooster
St., or online at www.downtownbgohio.org .The Fashion, Food & Fine Art Luncheon is part of the
city’s larger Art Walk celebration, which is in its 21st year. Artists, authors, musicians, actors and even
jugglers will be part of the 10 a.m.-5 p.m. event. Visitors can vote for their favorite artwork and
performances, and then find out the People’s Choice Award winners at the After Party.The party, at Grounds
for Thought, 174 S. Main, starts at 6 p.m. and features music from Bob Manley and Friends.Several local
artists and crafters are creating works specifically to help raise funds for the downtown flower plantings
in the Pots for Posies silent auction. The re-imagined flower pots will be on display and available for bids
throughout the day at Grounds for Thought. Auction winners will also be announced at the After
Party.Performers scheduled to appear at Art Walk include the Bowling Green High School Drama Club, the BGSU
Juggling Club, El Extreme, Bill Hanway and Russel Martin, Lucy Long and Friends, Laura Shakti Bellydance at
Julie’s Dance Studio, the Peace Band and the students of the Wood-Ottawa Counties Music Teachers.Authors
attending are Allen Bastings, Lawrence Coates, Phil Machi and Carole Sarkan.There are several free
activities for children scheduled during Art Walk. The Wood County Public Library at 251 N. Main is working
with BGSU’s Sigma Alpha Iota to present the Instrument Petting Zoo from 10:30-11:30 a.m., and with the Black
Swamp Blues Society to present music stories and activities from 3:30-4:30. BGSU’s Creativity Studio at the
Jordan Center will lead activities inspired by artist Pablo Picasso at Grounds for Thought from 10 a.m.-3:30
