Beta Sigma Phi conducts 2013 spring rituals PDF Print E-mail

The Bowling Green Chapters of Beta Sigma Phi held their Spring Rituals at the Bowling Green Country Club on Sunday afternoon.
Diane Beaverson, Becki Kerr, Jan Ruffner and Laura Schultes of Xi Gamma Kappa Chapter were given the Preceptor Ritual. Brenda Babcock was the reader, assisted by Karen Dauer, Sheryl Majoras and Dee Miller.            
Marilyn West read the Silver Circle, assisted by Mary Ann Book, Colleen Smith and Chris Nickey.  The Silver Circle recipient was Robin Spoores of Laureate Beta Theta. She has been a member of Beta Sigma Phi for 25 years. 
The new Torchbearer Ritual, recognizing senior status and many years of service to the sorority, was given to RuahBuckingham and Judy Snyder of Alpha Epsilon Master Chapter.  It was read by Smith, assisted by Mary Tonjes, Vicki Harris and Book.

The Order of the Rose Ritual was conferred upon Karen Dauer, Sheryl Majoras and Marilyn West of Laureate Beta Theta Chapter. The officiant was Chris Nickey and candleholders were Babcock and Smith. The attendants were Dee Miller, Robin Spoores, Kim Thomas, Sonja Hammer, Judy Snyder, Beaverson, Darlene Hecht and Ronda Young.
A memorial service was held for Maxine Myers of Alpha Delta Master Chapter. The service was read by Jean Lanning, assisted by Dee Miller and Sharon Gillespie. Myers joined sorority in 1948 and had been a member for 65 years.
Hammer, president of City Council, led the closing ritual.
