Ashley Christine Nelson became the bride of John Francis Gagnier in a Nov. 17 ceremony at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Raleigh, N.C.
Fr. William McConville led the 3 p.m. exchange of vows.
The bride is the daughter of Gary and Janice Nelson, Bowling Green. The groom is the son of Joseph and Ann Gagnier, Seattle, Wash.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a diamond white gown with asymmetrical ruching and a crystal beaded sash.
The maid of honor was Courtney Nelson, Holland, Ohio, sister of the bride.
Lindsey Nelson, Bowling Green, sister of the bride; April DeLamatre, Cygnet, cousin of the bride; and Marissa Crowell, Raleigh, were bridesmaids. The attendants wore navy tea-length silk dupioni dresses with one-shoulder necklines.
Matthew Gagnier, Seattle, served as best man for his brother.
Chris Newton, Fayetteville, N.C., was a groomsman.
A reception was held at The Cotton Company in Wake Forest., N.C.
The bride graduated from Bowling Green High School in 2001 and Kent State University in 2005. She is currently employed as a teacher for the Wake County Public School System.
The groom graduated from Governor John R. Rogers High School in 1998 and the University of Washington in 2003. He is presently serving in the United States Army.
