Ed and Bernie (Gable) Nietz, Cherokee Avenue, Moline, are observing their 60th wedding anniversary today.
They were married Oct. 7, 1949 at Salem E.U.B. Church in Toledo.
An open house will be held in their honor on Oct. 17 from 2 to 6 p.m. at 705 N. Main St., Walbridge.
Ed Nietz, a World War II Navy veteran, earned a B.A. in Business from Bowling Green State University and served as the Wood County treasurer for over 25 years..
Bernie Nietz is a graduate of Intercessions City Biblical College and served for many years as choir director and a Sunday school teacher at Main Street Church in Walbridge, where they are members.
Their children are Gary, Denis, John, and Gail Waddell. Another son, Mark, is deceased. They also have nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
