PERRYSBURG - The 577 Foundation at 577 E. Front St. is gearing up for the new programming year with nine adult classes offered in September.
Pre-registration is required at www.577foundation.org or 419-874-4174.
Classes are listed below:
• Saturday Pottery featuring casseroles - This Saturday from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. or 1:30-4:30 p.m.
For intermediate and advanced students who have taken the six-week Adult Pottery class. Individual attention and demonstrations included. Fee is $15.
• Beginning Needle Felting - Monday, Sept. 9 from 6-9 p.m.; $15 fee.
Using loose wool roving and small barbed needle, create a whimsical or realistic piece of art. The finished 4-by-4 art piece can be used as a coaster, framed and hung on a wall, or sewn on a garment. Materials provided.
• Mixed-media collage explorations - Sept. 12 from 6-8 p.m.; $60 fee.
Explore methods of mixed media collage using various fabrics, papers, acrylic paints and other media. Create your own collage materials using basic printmaking techniques; mono-printing, block printing and stamping. Learn to incorporate these into a multi-layered composition with various pigments. Bring an apron.
• Forest Scene - Sept. 13 from 8:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; $50 fee.
Paint the Bob Ross way. An old fallen log invites one to sit and contemplate the deep quiet of autumn woods ablaze with color. Bring a roll of paper towels. All supplies furnished including 16-by-20 canvas and a snack. Hour lunch break on your own.
• Northwest Ohio History Tour - Sept. 14 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; $25 fee.¬†
Many people who live in this area don't realize the pivotal role it played in American history - from the Battle of Fallen Timbers and the War of 1812 to construction of the Miami & Erie Canal. Start at the historic grounds of The 577 Foundation, then head out to tour historic sites including Fort Miamis, the Battle of Fallen Timbers, the canal locks at Sidecut Metropark, Fort Meigs and more. Wear comfortable shoes for lots of walking. A simple historical lunch is provided. Leaders: Frank Kuron and Jay Wagoner.  
• Flora and Fauna Cards - Sept. 22 from 2-4 p.m.; $13 fee.
Learn how to preserve colorful fall leaves or garden finds while they can still be found and used in your one-of-a-kind handcrafter note cards. They are ideal for Christmas cards or gift ideas. Supplies and instructions provided.
• Stamped cards and paper crafts - Sept. 24 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.; $20 fee.¬†
Create a heat-embossed card for the fall holidays ahead, and a variety of everyday cards for birthday, thank you and thinking of you. Cards will feature autumn colors and embellishments. Also, make a treat container with chocolate. Class is for the beginner or experienced stamper.  
• Needle Felted Owl - Sept. 27 from 6-8:30 p.m.; $30 fee.
Use a barbed needle to felt (mesh fibers together) wool roving (the state wool is in before it is spun into yarn) into wool batting to make a cute, soft sculpture owl. E-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for a supply list.
• No More Stress Just Happiness - Sept. 28 from 1-4 p.m.; $20 fee.¬†
An interactive workshop on living the stress-free life to reduce negative stress, resolve conflicts, repair relationships, improve communication, strengthen one's immune system and balance emotions. Leader: Robert Moyers.
