PERRYSBURG - The 577 Foundation will offer 18 adult classes during October. Classes include:
• Carve A Jack O Lantern - This Thursday from 1-3:30 p.m.
Start with a basswood blank to hold a tea light and create a lighted Jack O Lantern. No carving experience needed. Fee: $25.
• Retirement: Catalyst For Change - Friday from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.  Ask anything of two who have been going to Costa Rica. What is third world living really like? Prepare for retirement; do the planning now. Bring lunch; $10 fee.
• Saturday Pottery Featuring: Holiday Fun - Saturday from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. or 1:30-4:30; $15.
• Inner Writing Room - Sunday, 1:30-4:30.
Sample the various rooms in the cottage and discover your own inner writing room. Use paper, laptop or iPad for journaling, memoir, short story or creating a poem. Bring a favorite quote, poem, story, picture as inspiration. Includes writing exercises, group sharing. Fee: $15.
• Raku Pottery - Oct. 7 from 5-9 p.m.
Do raku and enjoy a potluck - bring a dish to share. Pre-requisite: have 3-5 pots already bisque fired. Fee: $15.
• Needle Felted Owl - Oct. 8, 1-3:30 p.m.; $30.
• Carve a Mouse - Oct. 8 from 6-8:30 p.m.
Carve a little "shelf sitter" mouse; includes learning to carve animal eyes and hair. No carving experience needed. Fee: $25
• Herbs - Oct. 13, 2-4 p.m. Have fresh basil, oregano or other kitchen herbs from your "kitchen herb garden" all winter. Leader: Sister Rita Wienken. Fee: $10.
• Beaded Jewelry with Gemstones - Oct. 14, 6-8:30 p.m.
Create a unique beaded necklace and earring set. Pick stones from a vast selection - black onyx, turquoise, jasper, crazy lace agate, tiger eye, snowflake obsidian and more. No experience needed; $30.
• Urban Homesteading - Oct. 16, 6:30-8 p.m.
Hügelkultur is a German word which translates to "mound culture". This technique of building raised beds over rotting wood has been around for centuries in Eastern Europe & Germany creating more space for nutrients and water in the soil. Eliminate yard waste, conserve water. Leaders: 577 Foundation, Lucas County Soil & Water and Olander Park; $10.
• Stamped Cards and Paper Crafts - Oct. 17, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Create with fall colors, make cards for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas; plus a "flip" card and treat bag; $20.
• Garden Keepsake Note Cards - Oct. 18, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Create your own card with dried flowers and greenery. Supplies, tools provided; $15.
• Saturday Pottery: Wood Kiln Fun - Oct. 19, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. or 1:30-4:30 p.m.; $15.
• Stained Glass Panels - Oct. 23, 30 - 6:30-9:30 p.m. Tools & materials provided. Choose from six designs: Celtic, Frank Lloyd Wright, Quilt, Heart, Star and Victorian; $85.
• Autumn Beauty - Oct. 26 - 8:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Paint the Bob Ross way; $50 fee.
• Reiki II certification - Oct. 26; $35.
• Needle Felted Sphere 101 - Oct. 28 - 6-8 p.m.; $30 fee.
• Craps Casino Style - Oct. 31 - 6-8:30 p.m. Learn the basics of the game by hands-on playing; $10 fee.
