and
construction of the
100 AREA WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS
NORTHWESTERN WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT will be received by the
Northwestern Water and Sewer District, 12560
Middleton Pike, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402 until
11:00 a.m. (Local
Time)
Tuesday, March 25, 2014
and at that time and place will be
publicly opened and read aloud.
The scope of work consists of the
installation of 1,150 lineal feet of 12" PVC waterline, 245 lineal feet
of 8" waterline, fire hydrants, and gate valves. As part of this
project, numerous waterline abandonments will be necessary, including
removal of fire hydrants, gate valves, and other miscellaneous
appurtenances. General restoration includes asphalt pavement
replacement, sidewalks, curb, and seeding and mulching.
The contract
documents, including plans and specifications, are on file at the office
of the Northwestern Water and Sewer District and the Engineer —
Poggemeyer Design Group, Inc. (PDG).
A set may be obtained from Becker
Impressions, 4646 Angola Road, Toledo, Ohio 43614, Telephone
419-385-5303, www.pdg planroom.com. A non- refundable
deposit in the amount of $100 will be required for each set of plans and
specifications; check must be made payable to Becker Impressions.
The Engineer for the Project is Poggemeyer Design Group, Inc., 1168
North Main Street, Bowling Green, Ohio
43402.
All bids must be
signed and submitted on the blanks which are bound in this booklet.
Bids must state the unit prices in the blanks provided and be enclosed
in a sealed envelope marked — 100 Area Water System Improvements —
and addressed to the Northwestern Water and Sewer District, 12560
Middleton Pike, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402.
The bid guaranty may be of
two forms:
1. A Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond using the form in the
Contract Documents.
(The amount of the bid does
NOT have to
appear on this form.)
2. A certified check, cashier’s check or
letter of credit in favor of the Northwestern Water and Sewer District
in the amount of 10% of the bid.
If the contract is awarded, a Contract
Bond will be required, which is a 100% payment and performance bond.
This procurement is subject to the EPA policy of encouraging the
participation of small businesses in rural areas (SBRAs).
After the
award of the contract let by competitive bid and prior to the time the
contract is entered into, bidders shall submit the affidavit required
under the Ohio Revised Code, Section 5719.042 that the bidder was not
charged with any delinquent personal property taxes in Wood County,
Ohio.
The successful bidder will be required to pay not less than
the highest applicable minimum wage rates as established by the federal
Davis-Bacon Wage Determinations issued by the U.S. Department of Labor.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of 60 days after the
scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids.
This project is being
partially funded with Ohio EPA Water Supply Resolving Loan Account
(WSRLA) funds.
The estimated cost of construction is $315,000.

The City of Perrysburg is in the design stage for the Fort Meigs Road
improvement project that will tentatively begin in 2016.
A public
meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in the City Council
Chambers which is located in the Perrysburg Municipal Building, 201 West
Indiana Avenue. Representatives from Ohio Department of Transportation
(ODOT) have been invited. The design engineer, and City representatives
will be available between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to answer questions on the
project. Project plans and displays will be available for viewing, as
well as informational packets. Comments may be written down and turned
in at the meeting or submitted to the City of Perrysburg by April 2,
2014.
