Bowling Green Police are investigating a reported armed robbery of the Check into Cash store, 1121 S. Main St,, almost exactly one year after it had been robbed another time.
The robbery occurred Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. At that time, police responded to a 911 call from an employee of the store who stated that he was just robbed by a male subject with a gun.
The suspect was described as a white male, 30 to 35 years old, 5'8" tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a white dress shirt, khaki pants with pockets on the sides, a black stocking cap and sunglasses. The suspect was also described as wearing a fake goatee. The gun he was carrying was described as a black semi-automatic handgun.
The store employee was forced into the bathroom, where he called police on his cell phone. The suspect fled in an unknown direction with an undetermined amount of cash.
On Nov. 7, 2007, Joel Westfall allegedly robbed the bank. He is facing charges in that robbery, along with numerous charges stemming from the armed robbery of Huntington Bank on North Main Street on Nov. 9.
On Nov. 13, 2007, Westfall and his girlfriend, Marijane Tripp, were arrested after robbing the Apothecare Pharmacy in Bowling Green, Ky., about seven hours south of Bowling Green, Ohio.
