NORTHERN LAKES LEAGUE
BOWLING GREEN
Coach: Jim Cress, fifth season.
2013 record: 6-21 overall, 1-13 in the NLL.
Returning letter winners: Seniors – Kelsey Parker, infielder; Hanna Williford, pitcher/outfielder; Hanna
Addy, catcher; and Reagan Morman, infielder. Juniors – Emily Sidle, infielder; Anna Szabo, infielder,
outfielder; Harper Craft, outfielder; and Kenzie White, outfielder. Sophomores – Angie Hoffsis,
infielder, outfielder.
Coach’s comment: "The players have responded well to the increased intensity and expectations in
practices this year. The younger players are challenging returning lettermen for starting spots and the
internal competition is the best it’s been in a while. We’re going to put the best team on the field for
each game, and expect to compete in every game, and improve significantly upon last year’s record."

PERRYSBURG
Coach: Ryan DeMars, fifth season.
2013 record: 10-16 overall, 5-9 in the NLL (sixth).
Returning letter winners: Seniors – Kayleen Jurski, pitcher; Mallory Creps, infielder; Taylor Tafelski,
outfielder; Adrianne Ruen, pitcher; and Kelsey Moore, outfielder. Sophomores – Madison Gerding,
infielder; Deanna Granata, outfielder; McKinley Harlett, infielder; and Tylah Remaley, catcher.
Coach’s comment: "This season will be a tough one for us – coming off a losing season and playing in
the NLL is a tough thing to do, but not nearly as difficult as dealing with the bad news that rocked our
team back in February. The news that (Jurski) had cancer was terrible, and while her prognosis is highly
positive, her softball career is over. Since she was are returning pitcher and clean up hitter, that
creates some big voids in our lineup. That means the pitching duties will be picked up by (Ruen). We
need her to be consistent and hit her spots to give us a chance in every game. Also, with graduation and
the loss of (Jurski’s) bat we only return one of our top four hitters from last season (Remaley), so we
will need to find offense in new places. We do return nine letter winners, all of whom picked up starts
at various points last season, some have experience. If we can continue to improve and gain confidence I
believe we can be competitive in every game and that should lead to some success."

what happened last year. What matters most is what you’re experiencing now. We talk about being prepared
mentally and physically all the time. We will have a strong mix of youth and experience with the
possibility of starting three freshmen and two sophomores, We will lean heavily on the experience of
(Woodruff, Henneman and Kontak)."

Coach’s comment: "We have some nice experience on which to build this season. We are also return
Kylie Asmus, who as a junior, already owns most pitching records at Otsego. We have a few players who
saw limited playing time last year, that will play a lot this year. In order to be successful, we will
have to grow up quickly, as we also have four freshman on the roster, including our starting catcher.
The NBC is always a really tough league from top to bottom and to be successful, a team has to bring its
‘A’ game every day. I like the focus I am seeing from my players and I am hopeful that we will still be
in the hunt when the dust settles."
ROSSFORD

to play solid defense and get timely hits. We have everybody back from last year’s team, so our
expectations are high. The girls have been working extremely hard this spring."
