COLUMBUS - Perrysburg coach Todd Sims and Yellow Jacket junior Sarah Baer were named to the All-Ohio Division I girls basketball team announced Monday night. Sims was the co-coach of the year and Baer was named to the All-Ohio second team. Sims guided the Yellow Jackets to a 23-2 record and a spot in a Division I regional semifinals against Notre Dame Academy. The Yellow Jackets won the Northern Lakes League championship with a 14-0 record and were ranked eighth in the final coaches poll. Sims shared the awarded with Julie Solis of Twinsburg and Trish Kruse of Solon. Baer, a 6-1 post player, averaged 13.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. She shot 50 percent from the field and 57 percent from the free-throw line. The all-state teams were selected by media members, although the Sentinel-Tribune doesn't have a vote in the process.
