Saturday's Prep Roundup: NB boys beat Arcadia (2-16-13) PDF Print E-mail

Jacob Frost scored 17 points, and Jordan Watson added 14 as North Baltimore’s boys posted a 61-51 non-league win Saturday over Arcadia.
In other boys games, it was: Fremont St. Joseph 55, Elmwood 45, overtime; and Ottawa-Glandorf 58, Perrysburg 50.
In girls games, it was: Maumee 50, Eastwood 47; and Northwood 42, Old Fort 38.

BOYS
North Baltimore 61, Arcadia 51
In Arcadia, NB held Arcadia to four points in the third quarter to overcome a 29-27 deficit at the half.
NB (3-18 overall) was 23-of-32 from the line, compared to Arcadia’s 7-of-16.
Arcadia is 2-19.

Fremont St. Joseph 55
Elmwood 45, OT
In Fremont, St. Joseph, after trailing 21-14 at the half, held Elmwood to two points in overtime in a nonleague game.
Aaron Arnold led Elmwood (13-8) with 17 points, while Zach Foster added 15. St. Joseph is 17-4.

GIRLS
Maumee 50, Eastwood 47
In Luckey, Maumee out-scored Eastwood,19-9 in the fourth quarter to record the nonleague win.
Lindsey Sayre scored seven of her team-high 11 points in the fourth quarter for the Panthers.
Eastwood’s Diana Bushman scored a game-high 16 points.
Maumee finished the regular season 2-20. Eastwood was 6-16.

Northwood 42, Old Fort 38
In Northwood, the Rangers took a 36-22 lead into the fourth quarter and then held on to post a nonleague win.
Megan Roach scored 14 points and Alex Rable added 13 for the Rangers, who finished the regular season 5-17.
Old Fort (1-21) was 19-of-26 from the free-throw line.

DISTRICT HOCKEY
Perrysburg 4, Clay 0
In Sylvania, Chris Sarni scored twice as Perrysburg won a first-round game at Tam-O-Shanter.
Matt Studer and Alex Serrao scored Perrysburg’s other goals, and Cam Studer was in goal.
Perrysburg plays fifth-ranked Northview in the quarterfinals Monday night at 6.

BG's Sehmann sets records during district swim meet
Bowling Green's Emmy Sehmann set two meet and school records in the district swimming meet at Bowling Green State University's Cooper Pool Saturday.
Sehmann won the 200 freestyle in 1:49.76 and the 500 freestyle in 4:56.81.
Also for BG, Mallory Glenn was seventh in the 100 breast stroke (1:10.76).
The Bobcats were 14th with 71 points.
Sehmann and BG's Peter Burroughs have advanced to the state meet, each in two events while Eastwood's Alyssa Decker in the 100 butterfly and Hannah Keiser in the 200 individual medley have earned at-large bids to the state.
The state meet begins Wednesday at Branin Natatorium in Canton.
