Perrysburg’s boys tennis team won twice in singles and swept the doubles for a 4-1 win Tuesday over Bowling Green in a Northern Lakes League match. Jeffrey Schorsch and Troy Weider won singles matches for Perrysburg, and the doubles teams of Grant Laurer and Mitchell Skotynsky, and Tyler Freeman and Austin Riffer also won. Garrett Hammer won a singles match for BG. Perrysburg is 1-1 in the NLL, while BG is 0-1. The match started at BG and was completed at the Perrysburg Tennis Center because of rain.
SOFTBALL Lake 13, Swanton 0 In Swanton, Lake pounded out 15 hits and scored eight times in the first inning to improve to 4-3 overall. Lake’s leading hitters were: Allie Kontak, 3-for-4, double, two RBI; Kayla Encalado, 2-for-4, two RBI; Sumer Woodruff, 2-for-3, RBI; Ana Henneman, 2-for-4, two doubles, two RBI; Jordan Jacob, 2-for-3, RBI. Lake’s Emma Materni pitched a two-hitter, striking out five.

Eastwood's boys were dominant again Saturday. The Eagles won three events and totaled 122 points Saturday to win the 16-team Lexington Invitational. Hudson was second with 89, while Brunswick was third with 74. The championship was the second in as many weeks for Eastwood, which opened its season by winning the Liberty-Benton Invitational. Eastwood's Devin Snowden went 21-9 3/4 to win the long jump. Eastwood also won two relays. The 400 team of John Rogers, Steven Bruning, Brennan Seifert and Isaiah Conkle won in 44.18. The 440 shuttle hurdles team of Zach Jacoby, Devin Snowden, EJ Carr and Blake Kohring won in 64.23.
Lakota places seventh In Clyde, Lakota finished seventh in the eight-team Clyde Invitational with 14 points. Lakota's Kevin Crowe was second in the shot put (45-0).

A two-run fifth inning allowed Eastwood’s softball team to edge visiting Otsego 2-1 in the Northern Buckeye Conference opener for both teams on Monday. The Eagles remained undefeated overall at 7-0. PHOTO GALLERY Eastwood pitcher Whitney Foster fanned three and walked one. Eastwood collected three hits, including a double by Ally Gabel. For Otsego, Savannah Schwind was 2-for-4 with a double and Kylie Asmus was 2-for-3. Otsego was the coaches pick to win the NBC this season, while Eastwood is the defending conference champion. Lake 11, Ottawa Hills 0, 5 innings In Millbury, the Flyers pounded eight hits to improve to 3-3 overall. Peyton Marchetto had a big day for Lake, striking out six and walking three. She was also 2-for-3 with a double. Teammate Allie Kontak also went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Bowling Green's girls won four events Friday on the way to a third-place finish in the Bobcat Invitational track and field meet. The Bobcats had 84 points in the eight-team meet to trail Napoleon with 118.5 and Fremont Ross with 102. Lake was sixth with 48. BG's Maria Horrigan won the pole vault with a meet-record height of 11-0. Sasha Lanning (1,600, 5:36.64) and Kyrha Hollins (high jump, 4-10) were BG's other individual winners. The Bobcats' 800 relay team of Hollins, Jessi Patton, Brittany Lowe and Horrigan won in 1:52.76. Lake had four second-place finishes - Shelby Zemenski (400, 64.84); the 400 relay team of Rebecca Boos, Ashley Timmons, Jordyn Taylor and Nicole Pennington, 53.66); Boos (200, 28.28); and Timmons (long jump, 15- 1/2 ).
