LUCKEY - Eastwood's boys are striving to win their 14th straight league championship this season.
The Eagles return 28 lettermen - including 12 seniors and 10 juniors - when they won the Northern Buckeye Conference title with 167 points.
Among the returnees is junior Devin Snowden, who won the conference championship in the long jump and the 300 hurdles.
The Eagles also won the 3,200, 400 and 1,600 relays in the NBC meet last season, and return three members from each of those relay teams.
Eastwood has 65 athletes on its roster.
"I love the attitude of our guys," Eastwood coach Brian Sabo said. "You already see a great work ethic. They're giving great effort. There's a lot of talent and it's our job to pull some more talent out of them. All is we ask is to give great effort.
"Our goal is to win the league. Every year, we want to get as many kids as we can to state. Our district is so tough, that our goal is to just to survive and get in the top four for the regional and then see how many kids we can get to state."

JERRY CITY - Elmwood's hard work on and off the track is paying off.
The Royals are emerging as one of the best boys track teams in the Northern Buckeye Conference.
They've finished second or third in the NBC the last two seasons, and they're goal is to challenge for one of the top spots again this season.
Elmwood returns eight lettermen from last season when it scored 110 points in the NBC meet to finish second.
The Royals were third with 104 points in 2012 and second in the Suburban Lakes League with 105 points in 2011.
"We've had success and that's really helped us grow, and we talk to our friends about coming out for the team," said Elmwood senior Aaron Arnold, a Division III state qualifier in the long jump, and the 400 and 1,600 relays last season.
The success the last three seasons came after Elmwood scored just 48.5 points in the SLL meet in 2010 and 70.5 points in 2009.

PERRYSBURG - Mark Delas has been a big part of Perrysburg's baseball program for the last four years.
As a freshman, Delas made critical pinch-hit appearances in the state semifinals and state finals, recording a seventh-inning doubles in both.
Now a senior, Delas faces a task that might prove to be even more pressure-laden. He will be the face and leader of a team coming off a 27-4 season, which included a 13-1 Northern Lakes League record, good for a league title.
Delas batted .408 a season ago with 31 RBI, and is one of nine returning letter winners, including five returning starters. The Yellow Jackets advanced to a regional semifinal last season.
"Mark is going to have to realize that without somebody sitting behind him in the lineup, he's not going to see anything to hit. If they throw him a fastball, they are crazy," said Perrysburg coach Dave Hall, who is entering his 29th season at the helm of the Yellow Jackets.
