PERRYSBURG — A sluggish start put Perrysburg’s boys basketball team in a hole early Friday night against Bedford.
Lousy defense and poor shooting, combined with the high energy and accurate shooting by the Mules, certainly made it seem as if the Yellow Jackets were to be handed their first loss.
Then something clicked.  PHOTO GALLERY
Midway through the second quarter, Perrysburg head coach Dave Boyce called timeout and seemingly a new team emerged from the huddle.
The ’Jackets turned into a squad willing to hit the floor and play aggressive defense, resulting in a 70-54 nonleague win. Perrysburg is 6-0.
“They didn’t go away ... and our guys thought they would,” Boyce said of Bedford, 2-2 overall. “So we had to sort of dig in a little bit and make some plays that they made us make.”
