Maumee swept Bowling Green in a Northern Lakes League doubleheader, 7-6 and 4-3 Saturday. The Bobcats are 14-10 overall and 4-8 in the NLL.
SOFTBALL Eastwood 3, Genoa 1 In Luckey, Eastwood scored twice in the fourth to break a 1-1 tie. The Eagles are 25-3 overall and finish 11-3 in the Northern Buckeye Conference. Cassidy Rolf was 2-for-2 with a home run and two runs batted in for Eastwood, while Ally Gabel was 2-for-3 with two doubles. Eastwood's Whitney Foster pitched a five-hitter, striking out seven and walking three.

JERRY CITY - Eastwood and Elmwood were all smiles following Saturday's Northern Buckeye Conference boys track and field meet. PHOTO GALLERY Eastwood won its 13th straight league championship, winning eight events and totaling 167 points. Elmwood also performed well to finish as the runnerup with 110 points. The Eagles have won the first two NBC championships after winning the final 11 Suburban Lakes League titles. "It's pretty amazing to be part of a team that can do this year after year," said Eastwood senior Isaiah Conkle, who won the 100 and the 200 for the second straight year. Conkle won the 100 in 11.03 to break his meet record of 11.06, and the 200 in 22.68. He was named the meet's most valuable performer in the running events. He also ran on the Eagles' winning 400 and 1,600 relay teams that set meet records. "It doesn't really get old because we have fun with every guy out here," Conkle said. "It's always fun. There's never a dull moment.

PHOTO GALLERY The Eagles won five events and totaled 176 1/2 points to easily win their 13th straight league championship. Lake was second with 109 1/2 points, while Woodmore was third with 96 1/2. Eastwood won the final 11 Suburban Lakes League titles and has won the first two NBC meets. "No class wants to be the one who breaks the tradition, said Eastwood senior Aricka Lavoy, who was named the meet's most valuable performer in the running events. LaVoy won the long jump with a distance of 17-1 to break her meet record of 16-10 3/4 set last year. She also was second in the 100 (12.95) and ran on the Eagles' winning 400 and 1,600 relay teams." "Everyone has their mind set on (winning the league) all year. It's something we want to continue for sure," LaVoy said.

Perrysburg’s baseball team dropped its first Northern Lakes League game of the season Friday night. Anthony Wayne defeated Perrysburg 3-2 at Leyland Family Field, dropping the Yellow Jackets to 11-1 in the NLL, a half-game back of the Generals, who are 12-1 in the league.
BASEBALL Anthony Wayne 3, Perrysburg 2 PHOTO GALLERY In Perrysburg, the sixth-ranked Yellow Jackets fell to 23-3 overall after Anthony Wayne scored twice in the fifth and once in the sixth to overcome a 2-0 Perrysburg lead. Each team scattered six hits while Perrysburg’s Mark Delas pitched a complete game, allowing just one earned run as the ’Jackets committed three errors. Steve Slocum led Perrysburg, going 2-for-4 with a run scored.
