Prep Track: BG girls, Otsego boys win meet titles

Bowling Green’s girls and Otsego’s boys won track and field championships Friday night.
BG won the Sandusky Perkins Relays and Otsego won its own Tim Downey Invitational.
PERKINS RELAYS
BG’s girls won three events and finished with 107 points to win by three points over Perkins. Eight teams
competed.
The Bobcats’ Sasha Lanning won the 1,600 in 5:31.65.
BG’s 400 shuttle hurdle team of Kelsey Remeis, Olivia McGowan, Bailee Bowers and Zhaile Hoskay won in
67.80.
BG’s Maria Horrigan and Rachel Clark combined to win the pole vault, clearing 21-0.
Horrigan was the top individual in the event with a height of 12-6.
In the boys meet, BG was fifth with 701?2 points.
The Bobcats had four second-place finishes, including Sam Panter in the 110 hurdles (15.70).
BG was second in three relays.
The 6,400 team of Lucas Overmyer, Kevin Connell, Noah Lanning and Jack Amburgey had a time of 20:19.30.

The distance medley team of Pierce Walker, Lanning, Michael Shilling and Connell had a time of 11:43.20.

The 440 shuttle hurdle team of Panter, Walker, Shilling and Trent Wisecup had a time of 66.70.

Cole Gorski won two events to help Otsego score 99 points in the five-team meet and edge runnerup
Springfield with 96.
Rossford was fifth with 321?2.
Gorski won the 100 in 11.41 and the 200 in 22.81.
Also for Otsego, Josh Horseman won the 400 in 52.30, and Brandon Avers won the 1,600 in 4:28.29.
Rossford’s Nate Childress threw 48-4 to win the shot put and 128-11 to win the discus.
In the girls meet, Otsego was third with 59 points and Rossford was fourth with 42.
Otsego’s Alex Wenig won the 800 in 2:28.76, and the Knights’ 3,200 relay team of Dayna Fackler, Lauren
Wynn, Mallory Beach and Wenig won in 10:41.12.
Rossford’s Regan Clay won the 200 in 26.56 and the 400 in 58.22.
Also for Rossford, Shelby Redway won the 300 hurdles in 51.86, and the Bulldogs’ 800 relay team of Taylor
Stolar, Jessica Pietrasz, Redway and Clay won in 1:47.55.

At Elmwood, the Royal boys team finished second in the seven-team meet with 1021?2 points. Lakota was
fourth with 661?2.
Elmwood’s 6,400 relay team of Andrew Jasso, Chris Goodrich, Matthew Wagner and C.J. Jenkins won in 20:32.

Lakota’s 3,200 relay team of Luke Baker, Jon Moes, Caleb Tolento and Isaac Ritter was second in 9:12.00.

In the girls meet, Elmwood was third with 1001?2 and Lakota was fourth with 79.
Lakota’s Cariss Reese won the pole vault (9-6) and the 100 hurdles (16.40).
Elmwood received second-place finishes from Brionna Camden (long jump, 14-81?2), Koleen Avery (triple
jump, 26-51?4) and Madison Sears (200, 26.96).

RELAYS
In the 10-team girls meet, North Baltimore was fifth with 40 points and Northwood was eighth with 10.
NB’s pole vault team of Kenzie Carles, Mariah Leonard and Megan Ernsberger was second with a combined
height of 21-0.
Northwood’s 1,600 sprint medley team of Olivia Carbé, Kelsey Smothers, Leeza Bowers and Katelynn Conley
was second in 4:50.3.
In the 11-team boys meet, NB was sixth with 22 points and Northwood tied for 10th with two.
NB’s sprint medley team of Lane Bishop, Christian Richmond, Tyler Stimmel and Caleb Swope was third in
4:02.7.
Junior high results
TRACK
Bowling Green’s seventh-grade boys tied for fourth and the girls were third in the Rossford Relays. BG’s
winners were: Cole Sonner, Parker Barns, shot put; Tatum Krupp, Julia Rothweiler in the 2×1,600 run; and
the distance medley relay team of Krupp, Rothweiler, Kenzie Cookson, and Callie Scheier.
