Jayce Vancena pitched a no-hitter to help Lake blank Elmwood, 9-0 in the Northern Buckeye Conference
opener for both teams.
Vancena struck out 16 and walked one.

In Genoa, the Comets rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to secure the NBC victory.
Zac Gregory had two hits, including a double, and an RBI for the Knights, 0-7 overall and 0-1 in the NBC.

In North Baltimore, Jacob Frost had NB’s only two hits in the Midland Athletic League opener. NB is 1-6

Kinsey Kale hit three singles and a double, scored three runs, and drove in four run to help Bowling
Green beat Napoleon in a Northern Lakes League game.
Also for BG, Angie Hoffis hit a single and a triple, Kelsey Parker hit a double, and winning pitcher
Hanna Williford hit two singles.
The Bobcats are 9-2 overall and 3-0 in the NLL.
Perrysburg 5, Southview 1
In Sylvania, Perrysburg improved to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the NLL with the victory,
Kelsey Moore was 2-fo-3 with two runs scored for the Yellow Jackets.

In Rossford, Krista Jennings and Mackenzie Albright combined for six hits and eight RBI in an NBC win.
Jennings was 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI and Albright was 3-for-4 with a triple and four RBI.
Anna Rahrig was 2-for-3 for the Eagles.
Kirsten Keller was 2-for-3 for Rossford.
Eastwood is 7-0 overall and 1-0 in the NBC. Rossford is 5-4, 1-1.

In Jerry City, Elmwood’s Rebecca Harvey and Chelsie Schmitz each hit a home run as the Royals rolled to
the NBC win.
Harvey finished with four RBI while Schmitz was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Also for Elmwood, Sarah
Williams had two hits and two RBI and Kristi Reiser drove in two runs.
Jessica Densic had two hits for Lake.
Elmwood’s Miranda Benschoter pitched a two-hitter, walking three and striking out seven.
Elmwood is 6-1 overall and 1-0 in the NBC.
Otsego 9, Genoa 5
In Tontogany, Otsego scored five times in the fifth inning on the way to the NBC win over Genoa.
Nicole Thomas got the win in relief, allowing two hits and no runs over the final 4 1/3 innings with
three walks and two strike outs.

single, double.
The Knights are 6-3 overall and 1-0 in the NBC.
