Prep Roundup: Rossford shuts out Otsego (10-05-13) PDF Print E-mail

Dylan Losiewicz scored four touchdowns as Rossford blanked Otsego, 27-0 in a Northern Buckeye Conference game Friday.
In other games it was: Anthony Wayne 37, Bowling Green 12; Perrysburg 16, Southview 13; Eastwood 21, Lake 0; Woodmore 49, Elmwood 22; Fremont St. Joseph 13, Lakota 0; Seneca East 49, North Baltimore 34; and Northwood 55, Hilltop 20.

Rossford 27, Otsego 0
In Tontogany, Losiewicz rushed for 144 yards on 25 carries and scored twice on 1-yard runs and on a 9-yard run. He also caught a 10-yard TD pass from Kyle Sherman.
Sherman finished 12-of-14 passing for 139 yards.
Rossford is 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the NBC, while Otsego is 3-3, 1-2.

Woodmore 49, Elmwood 22
In Elmore, Woodmore scored 35 points in first half on the way to the NBC win.
Elmwood’s leaders were: Austin Isaacs, 19 carries for 57 yards, a TD, and two 2-point conversion runs; Noah Baker, 10-of-13 passing for 128 yards and two scores; Aaron Arnold, five receptions for 74 yards; and Ryan Aufdencamp, three catches for 35 yards and two scores.
Woodmore’s Jake Matwiejczyk was 20-of-26 passing for 348 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran nine times for 40 yards and a TD.
Malachi Brown had four receptions for 159 yards and three TDs for the Wildcats. He also kicked seven extra points.
Woodmore is 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the NBC while Elmwood is 3-3, 1-2.

Fremont St. Joseph 13,
Lakota 0
In Fremont, St. Joseph scored TDs in the second and third quarters to survive a 324-yard passing performance by Lakota’s Colin Timmons in a Midland Athletic League game.
Timmons completed 25-of-44 passes. Dakota Bowling had nine catches for 128 yards, while Jack Raymond has six receptions for 92 yards. Josh Kirkpatrick and Gabe Boose each had five receptions.
St. Joseph is 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the MAL. Lakota is 3-3, 0-3.

Seneca East 49,
North Baltimore 34
In Attica, Seneca East jumped out to a 28-0 lead and hung on for the MAL win over North Baltimore.
NB’s Lane Bishop ran 31 times for 205 yards and a touchdown. He also threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns.
Gabe Del Los Reyes caught six passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns for NB, 2-4 overall and 0-3 in the MAL.
Seneca East’s Alex Scheiber ran for 188 yards and five touchdowns.

Northwood 55, Hilltop 20
In Northwood, the Rangers rolled up 378 yards in total offense in their Toledo Area Athletic Conference win.
Jacob Davenport scored three times for Northwood, returning a kickoff 81 yards for a TD; rushing 11 yards for a score; and catching a 22-yard TD pass from Michael Vallejo.
Northwood’s Dominik Bermejo scored on a 16-yard interception return, and a 22-yard pass from Vallejo.
Bermejo finished with 72 yards rushing on eight carries and 73 yards on three receptions.
The Rangers were 7-of-10 passing for 173 yards and three touchdowns.
Northwood is 4-2 overall and tied for first place in the TAAC with Toledo Christian at 3-0. Hilltop is 2-4, 0-3.

VOLLEYBALL
Otsego beats Lake
In Tontogany, Otsego remained undefeated in the NBC Thursday with a 25-13, 25-11, 25-18 win over Lake.
The Knights are 16-4 overall and 11-1 in the NBC. They can clinch no worse than a tie for the conference championship Tuesday with a win at Rossford.
Otsego’s leaders were: Mackenzy Varner, 30 assists; Savannah Schwind, 12 digs; Morgan Smoyer, 12 kills; and Abby Hesselschwardt, 10 kills.
