Rossford’s girls basketball team remained one-game behind Elmwood after beating Lake 40-35 in a Northern Buckeye Conference matchup Thursday.
In other girls games, it was: Woodmore 57, Eastwood 34; Otsego 51, Fostoria 49; Elmwood 57, Genoa 47; Hopewell-Loudon 50, Lakota 47; and Seneca East 49, North Baltimore 47.
In boys games it was: Bowling Green 61, Northview 59; and Perrysburg 68, Maumee 48.


GIRLS
Rossford 40, Lake 35
In Millbury, Julie Hotz scored 15 points as Rossford broke a 12-12 halftime tie with 28 points in the second half.
The Bulldogs are 6-3 overall, 4-1 in the NBC.
Lake’s Jordyn Taylor and Sumer Woodruff each scored 11 points.

Woodmore 57, Eastwood 34
In Luckey, Woodmore built a 31-18 halftime lead and earned an NBC victory.
Reagan Boice had 14 points for Eastwood (0-7, 0-5).
Woodmore’s Mackenzie Johnson led all scorers with 22 points. Woodmore is 4-5, 3-2.

Otsego 51, Fostoria 49
In Fostoria, Otsego (5-3, 3-2) trailed 27-25 at halftime, but used a 15-8 third quarter to take a 40-35 lead and hold on for an NBC win.
Otsego’s Abby Hesselschwardt led all scorers with 20 points, while Morgan Smoyer added 14.
Fostoria is 1-6, 0-5.

Hopewell 50, Lakota 47
In Kansas, Hopewell-Loudon slipped past Lakota in a Midland Athletic League game.
Morgan Mowry had 15 points and Katie Park added 12 for Lakota, 1-7 overall and 0-4 in the MAL.
Hopewell is 2-2, 2-2.

Seneca East 49,
North Baltimore 47
In North Baltimore, Seneca East edged North Baltimore in an MAL game.
Kiah Powell scored 14 points for North Baltimore, 2-6 overall and 0-3 in the MAL.
Seneca East is 1-3, 1-3.

Cardinal Stritch 42,
Northwood 29
In Northwood, Cardinal Stritch rolled past Northwood in a the Toledo Area Athletic Conference game.
Northwood’s Lissy Wojcinski and Alex Rable each had eight points.
CeCe Gozdowski led Cardinal Stritch (2-2, 2-2) with 20 points.
Northwood is 1-5, 1-3.

WRESTLING
Perrysburg wins twice
Perrysburg’s wrestling team defeated Anthony Wayne, 54-12 and Napoleon, 59-16.
AW beat Bowling Green, 55-14 and Napoleon beat the Bobcats, 49-22.

BOYS
Rossford wins
At Tri-County Lanes in Woodville, Rossford was a 2,650-2,354 winner over Gibsonburg.
Drew Pinardo had a 220 game and a 390 total for Rosford, while Mason Robinson had a 212 game.
Rossford is 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the Northern Ohio Buckeye Conference.

Eastwood wins
In Port Clinton, Eastwood was a 2,950-2,646 winner over Port Clinton in the NOBC matchup.
Eastwood’s Kyle Waynick had a 246 game and a 491 total. The Eagles are 4-0.

GIRLS
Rossford loses
At Tri-County Lanes in Woodville, Rossford fell to Gibsonburg, 2,371-2240.
Rossford’s Kathleen Hermes had a 180 game and 329 total.
Rossford is 1-5 overall and 1-3 in the NOBC.

Eastwood loses
In Port Clinton, Port Clinton handed Eastwood its first loss, defeating the Eagles 2,456-2133 in the NOBC matchup.
Kat Pryzbylski had a 234 game and a 420 total for the Eagles. Eastwood is 3-1.

Otsego defeated Eastwood 61-30, but fell to Genoa 42-39.

SEVENTH GRADE

 

Lake beat Otsego 43-31. Lake’s Jase Bowen scored 19 points and Luke Walsh added 16.

Anthony Wayne beat Bowling Green, 47-38. Bryce Hoehner scored 14 points and Isaac Elsasser added 12 for BG, 5-5.
EIGHTH GRADE
Otsego defeated Lake, 41-39, on two free throws by Luke Beach. Lake’s Blake Osborn had 15 points, while Dylan O’Quinn scored 11.
Eastwood defeated Elmwood 45-17. Grant Hirzel, Cory Coffman and Dalton Andrews were Eastwood’s leaders.

Anthony Wayne beat Bowling Green, 37-17. Spencer Rader and Caleb Fair each had six points for BG, 2-8.
GIRLS
SEVENTH GRADE
Otsego defeated Lake 30-21. Ellie Kregel led Otsego with 12 points.
EIGHTH GRADE
Otsego defeated Lake 28-22. Candice Kleman had seven points for Otsego.
