Perrysburg's doubles team of Erica Fastnacht and Sarah Fastnacht won a Division I sectional tennis championship Saturday at the Findlay YMCA.
Fastnacht and Fastnacht, the No. 1 seeds, posted a 6-1, 6 -0 over teammates Jordan Spidel and Camryn Kiel in the championship match. Spidel and Kiel were seeded third.
In the semifinals, Fastnacht and Fastnacht were 6-2, 6-1 winners over Wapakoneta's Kiersten Wellons and Chelsea Myers, and Spidel and Kiel were 6-1, 6-2, winners over second-seeded Erin Bosse and Emma Miller of Findlay.
In singles play, Perrysburg's Nora Abdul-Aziz finished second and teammate Moira Sams was third.
Abdul-Aziz was a 6-4, 6-4 loser to Wapakoneta's Kaitlin Snyder in the championship match after posting a 7-5, 7-5 win over Wapakoneta's Rachel Roberts in the semifinals.
Sams, the No. 2 seed, posted a 6-4, 6-3 win over Roberts in the third-place match. Snider was a 7-5, 6-3 winner over Sams in the semifinals.
The top four finishes in singles and doubles qualified for this week's district tournament at Bowling Green State University.
The district qualifiers were decided Thursday during the first day of the sectional.
Perrysburg 1, Magnificat 0
In Perrsyburg, Allex Brown scored her 15th goal of the season, and teammate Sarah Baer made six saves as Perrysburg beat 10th-ranked Magnificat.
The Yellow Jackets are 10-2-2 overall.
Lake 5, Clay 3
In Oregon, Jeremy Likes and Nick Touchy each scored two goals for Lake in the nonleague win over Clay. The Flyers are 4-9-1 overall.
Corey Pierce added a goal and an assist for Lake, Matt Church had two assists, while Austin Taylor and Danny Patel each had one assist. Vince Askins made two saves for Lake.
In Toledo, Rossford split two nonleague matches.
Rossford was a 25-5, 25-12 winner over Start. Archbold was a 25-12, 25-17 winner over the Bulldogs.
In North Baltimore, the Tigers were 25-13, 25-20, 25-8 winners over Vanlue in a nonleague match.
NB's leaders were: M. Ray, six blocks, five kills; Cheyenne Hernandez, four aces, digs; Mackenzie Stewart, 11 digs; Makayla Rein, 24 assists; Dominique Buchanan, 13 digs, three kills; Kaley McCartney, five kills; Kenzie Carles, seven digs; Morgan Okuley, seven kills.
Junior varsity results
North Baltimore beat Vanlue, 25-13, 25-6.
Rossford beat Start, 25-17, 25-15.
Archbold beat Rossford, 25-19, 25-15.
