Perrysburg baseball records 20th win
Perrysburg’s baseball team totaled 16 hits Thursday en route to a 14-1 win over Rochester (Mich.) Adams
in a nonleague game at Adrian College.
The win was the 20th of the season for the Yellow Jackets, (20-7 overall).
Perrysburg’s Nick Fleming was 4-for-4 with a double, run and four RBI.
The Yellow Jackets’ other leading hitters were: AJ Stockwell, 2-for-4, run, RBI; Connor Jordan, 2-for-2;
and Zack Zam, 2-for-2, triple, two runs, two RBI.
Fostoria 12, Rossford 4
In Rossford, Noah Asmus, Trey Demko and Spencer Shultz singled for Rossford in a Northern Buckeye
Conference game.
Lakota 5, Tiffin Calvert 3
In Kansas, Lakota built a 3-0 lead and held off Tiffin Calvert in a Midland Athletic League game.
Jordan Jaso was 2-for-3 for Lakota, and Raider pitcher Nick Watts struck out nine.

Elmwood 6, Woodmore 0
In Woodville, Elmwood improved to 11-1 in the Northern Buckeye Conference to tie Eastwood for the
conference lead.
Miranda Benschoter had nine strikeouts and also had two of Elmwood’s 11 hits.
Other top hitters for Elmwood were: Olivia Myers, single, double; Rebecca Harvey, single, RBI; Lindsay
George, two singles; Chelsie Schmitz, home run, two RBI; Jasmine Marsh, triple, RBI; Kristi Reiser,
double, RBI; and Brandi Vargas, single, RBI.
Rossford 7, Fostoria 0
In Rossford, the Bulldogs won to finish 20-7 overall and 10-4 in the NBC.
Top hitters for Rossford were: Lyndsey Skala, 2-for-4, two RBI; Kirsten Keller, 2-for-2, RBI; Hannah
Gauthier, 2-for-4, RBI; and Maddie York, single, RBI.
Lakota 9, Old Fort 8
In Kansas, Lakota had 12 hits in an MAL win.
Top hitters for the Raiders were: Nikkia Cooper, 3-for-4, double, three RBI; Bre Long-Meyer, single RBI;
Alaina Bickford, 2-for-4, RBI; Destiny Long-Meyer, 2-for-3, double, RBI; Breanna Ray, single, RBI; and

3,200 relay wins
At Toledo St. Francis, Perrysburg’s girls 3,200 relay team won a Division I district championship.
Jordan Doore, Taylor Monheim, Alexis Kemp and Courtney Clody had a time of 9:24.28 to finish first and

Troy Weider advances
to semifinals
At Bowling Green State University, Perrysburg’s Troy Weider advanced to the semifinals with two wins.
Weider was a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Springfield’s Cody Wurzelbacher and a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Ashland’s
Andy Elderbrock.
Weider plays Findlay’s Reid Teatsorth in Saturday’s semifinals, and the winner earns a trip to the state
tournament.
In the doubles draw, three county teams were eliminated.
Perrysburg’s Mitchell Skotyntsky and Austin Riffer were 6-2, 6-2 winners over Tiffin Columbian’s Hunter
Stark and Eline Widman in the first round, but dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to Jonah Carter and Rajeev
Laungani of St. John’s in the quarterfinals.
Perrysburg’s Konner Massell and Alejandro Balibrea lost a 6-2, 7-5 decision to Columbian’s Braden Kuhn
and Nick Gaietto in the first round.
Two BG teams lost in the first round.
Austin Ezzone and Austin Ray lost to Sylvania Southview’s Matthew Rothchild and Jason Bigler, 6-2, 6-2.

Jacob Leader and Alex Messenger and lost to Kevin Brown and Ryan Brown of St. John’s, 6-0, 6-0.
