Prep Roundup: Perrysburg baseball falls to AW (05-08-14)

Anthony Wayne scored a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie and the Generals held on
for a 4-3 win over Perrysburg in a Northern Lakes League baseball game.
Perrysburg, ranked sixth in Division I, is 14-4 overall and 5-3 in the NLL.
The Yellow Jackets’ leading hitters were: Nick Fleming, double; AJ Stockwell, 3-for-4, RBI; Mark Delas,
double, RBI; and Gus Dimmerling, single, RBI.
Springfield 3, BGHS 2
In Holland, Springfield scored twice in the fourth and once in the seventh to erase a 2-0 deficit and
post an NLL win.
Elijah Richardson and Spencer Schultz hit RBI singles in the third for BG (11-9, 2-7).
Lake 7, Rossford 0
In Rossford, Brad Ackerman struck out 14, keeping Lake in first place in the Northern Buckeye Conference.

Ackerman tossed a two-hitter, and was 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Connor Bowen was 3-for-4 for the Flyers, and Zak Greenlese was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Lake is 19-2 overall and 8-0 in the NBC. Rossford is 7-11, 2-7.
Genoa 13, Elmwood 3
In Jerry City, Genoa scored nine times over the first three innings in the NBC contest.
Elmwood, which committed seven errors, was held to five hits.
Jacob Wise led the Royals (7-11, 2-5), going 2-for-3.
Genoa is 7-1 in the NBC.
Eastwood 5, Fostoria 4
In Luckey, Fostoria scored in the sixth and seventh, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Eastwood’s 5-2 lead
after the fourth inning.
Matt Drown led the Eagles, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Otsego 6, Woodmore 4
In Tontogany, Otsego led 6-0 before holding off a four-run Woodmore seventh inning.
Max Miller led the Knights with three hits, while Trent Soto, Hunter Carson, Collin Kitchen, and Joe
Brown each added two hits.
Otsego is 7-11 overall and 5-2 in the NBC.
Seneca East 2, Lakota 1
In Kansas, Seneca East improved to 19-1 overall and 7-0 in the Midland Athletic League. The Tigers are
ranked first in Division IV.
All of the runs were scored in the third.
Ethan Caudill pitched a three-hitter and struck out 13 for SE. He also had an RBI.
Casey Monroe threw a two-hitter for Lakota, striking out three and walking none.
The Raiders’ hits were singles by three different players.
SOFTBALL
Elmwood 5, Genoa 4
In Jerry City, three first-inning runs helped Elmwood to an NBC win.
Rebecca Harvey and Kristi Reiser each had home runs for the Royals, as the team tallied just six hits.

Elmwood’s Miranda Benschoter struck out eight, allowing just three hits.
Elmwood is 14-3 overall and 6-1 in the NBC.
Eastwood 5, Fostoria 0
In Luckey, Eastwood scored five times in the second en route to the NBC win.
Marissa Tudor was 3-for-3 for Eastwood, while Machaela Bunge added a double.
Sam Shirling pitched a one-hit shutout and struck out nine for the Eagles, 19-1 overall and 7-1 in the
conference.
Rossford 10, Lake 2
In Rossford, Jessica Kulczak was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Margo Jackson was 2-for-4 with two RBI, leading
Rossford in an NBC game.
Maddie York, Kirsten Keller and Maggie Leahy each had two hits for the Bulldogs, 16-5 overall and 7-3 in
the NBC.
Allie Kontak was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Lake.
Woodmore 7, Otsego 2
In Tontogany, Woodmore built a 5-0 lead by the end of the fourth inning helping it to the NBC win.
Otsego, which committed four errors, had seven hits.
Kylie Asmus and Paige Ireland led the Knights with two hits each.

Hopewell-Loudon 3
In Bascom, Cheyenne Hernandez struck out 10 to help NB to an MAL win.
Hanna Brian and Makayla Light each had two hits and an RBI for the Tigers, 6-11 overall and 2-4 in the
MAL.

In Rossford, the Bulldogs won eight events on the way non a nonconference win.

Otsego beat Elmwood, 68-54. Otsego’s winners were: Marcus Easterwood, shot put; Damion Ball, long jump;
Paul Glassford, high jump; Sam Berry, 1,600; Shane Tabor, 400; the 400 relay team of Ball, Andrew
Rosales, Nick Krabill and Phillip McDaniel; and the 800 relay team of Stone Zimmerman, Rosales, Evan
Farley and Krabill.
GIRLS
Otsego beat Elmwood, 65-57. Otsego’s winners were: Zion Richardson 100 (13.0(, 200 (27.3); Kenzie Wilson,
high jump (4-8); Felicity Jinnings, long jump (13-10); Gabby Trevino, discus (76-6); and Ashlynn Digby,
pole vault (6-6).
