Perrysburg's wrestling team won the first round of the Ohio High School Athletic Association dual meet tourney with a 58-18 win over Anthony Wayne Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets face Findlay, which defeated Fremont Ross 30 -25, next Wednesday at Clay High School at 6 p.m, in the regional semi-finals. In other quarterfinal matches it was: Lake 35, Otsego, 34; Eastwood 40. Norwalk 33; Elmwood 52, Fostoria 8, Elida 42, Bowling Green, 33; and Tiffin Columbian 44, Rossford 36. Eastwood is 15-2 in duals. The Eagles were trailing 33-12 after the 152-pound weight class before winning out to advance. BOYS BOWLING Eastwood tops Gibsonburg In Woodville on Tuesday, Eastwood defeated Gibsonburg 2,806-2,071 in a Northern Ohio Bowling Conference match. The Eagles (8-4 overall and 6-4 in the conference) were led by Jared Haas with a 236 game for 431; Kyle Waynick 220, 412; and Mike Young 245, 407. GIRLS BOWLING Eastwood undefeatedin NOBC In Woodville on Tuesday, Eastwood beat Gibsonburg 2,633-2,026 to improve to 10-0 in the NOBC. The Eagles, 10-2 overall, were led by Jessica Young with games of 226 and 223 for 449. Morgan Corns also contributed a 202 game and Kat Przybylski a 205. Junior High results SEVENTH GRADE BOYS BASKETBALL Delta beat Lake, 30-23. Blake Osborn and Ahmad Smith with the leading scorers for Lake, 4-3. EIGHTH GRADE BOYS BASKETBALL Lake beat Delta, 42-31. Jacob Rettig scored 16 points for Lake, 5-2. SEVENTH GRADE GIRLS BASKETBALL Lake defeated Delta, 31-21. Kirsten Zink, Brooke Wetmore and Taylor Miller each scored six points for the Flyers. EIGHTH GRADE GIRLS BASKETBALL Lake beat Delta 30-27. Lake's Rebekah Swartz led all scorers with 20 points. |
