Mandi Longeway pitched a perfect game Saturday to lead Rossford’s softball team to a 13-0 win over Otsego
in a Division III district tournament game.
Longeway struck out two as Rossford improved to 17-6 overall.
Rossford’s leading hitters were: Lyndsey Skala, 2-for-3, three runs, RBI; and Kelly Swope, 2-for-4, two
doubles, three RBI.
The Bulldogs play third-ranked Archbold in a district semifinal Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Maumee’s Rolf
Park.

Eastwood 11, Lake 0
Eastwood 6, Gibsonburg 3
In Luckey, Eastwood improved to 24-1 overall and 10-1 in the Northern Buckeye Conference.
Against Lake, Sam Shirling pitched a four-hitter, striking out three and walking one.
Eastwood’s leading hitters were: Maddie Fix, 2-for-3, home run; Marissa Tudor, 2-for-3, double; and Anna
Rahrig, double.
Lake’s Allie Kontak singled and doubled.
Against Gibsonburg, Eastwood’s leading hitters were: Mackenzie Albright, 3-for-4, double; Cassidy Rolf,
2-for-3; and Morgan Getz, double.

REGULAR SEASON
Perrysburg 5, Maumee 0
In Maumee, Bobby Borger pitched a four-hitter as Perrysburg improved to 17-6 overall and 8-3 in the
Northern Lakes League.
Perrysburg’s leading hitters were: Trevor Hafner, 4-for-4; Nick Fleming, 2-for-4, run, RBI; Zach
Honsberger, 2-for-4, two runs; and Steven Winzeler, double.
The Yellow Jackets and Anthony Wayne are tied for the NLL lead with three games to play.
On Friday, AW scored a run in the top of the ninth for a 3-2 win over Perrysburg.
Honsberger was 3-for-5.
Lake 3, Woodmore 2
In Millbury, Lake scored twice in the third and once in the fourth to overcome a 2-0 deficit.
The Flyers are 22-2 overall and 10-0 in the NBC with four games remaining. Genoa is second at 8-2, and
every other team has at least three losses.
Lake’s leading hitters were: Adam Duncan, 2-for-2; Cody Witt, 1-for-3, two RBI; and Jayce Vancena, Nick
Walsh 2-for-3, double each.
Witt pitched a three-hitter.
Eastwood 6, Rossford 0
In Rossford, Eastwood’s Jake Schmeltz and Ryan Mang pitched a two-hitter in an NBC game Saturday
Eastwood’s Chris Orcutt was 2-for-3 with a double.
NB 10, Mohawk 5
In Sycamore, Zach Stewart was for 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI as NB moved to 10-14 overall and 5-3
in the Midland Athletic League.
Also for NB, Levi Newcomer was 2-for-2 with two RBI, Tyler Trumbull doubled, and winning pitcher Brock
Boyer struck out six.
SECTIONAL TENNIS
DIVISION I
Ezzone, Ray win title
In Ada, Bowling Green’s Austin Ezzone and Austin Ray posted a 6-4, 7-6(0) over Findlay’s Brent Gorman and
Ian Laird to win a sectional title at Ohio Northern University.
In the consolation match, Findlay’s Hyan Chul Lee and Logan Sullivan were 7-6(4), 6-2 winners over BG’s
Jacob Leader and Alex Messenger.
The top four finishers advanced to this week’s district tournament at Bowling Green State University.
In the semifinals, Ezzone and Ray were 6-4, 6-4 winners over Lee and Sullivan, and Gorman and Laird were
6-1, 6-2 winners over Leader and Messenger.
Gorman and Laird were the No. 1 seed, followed by Ezzone and Ray, Lee and Sullivan, and Leader and
Messenger.
Skotynsky, Riffer win doubles title
In Toledo, Perrysburg’s Mitch Skotynsky and Austin Riffer won a Division I district doubles title.
They posted a 6-4, 6-1 win over St. Francis’ Lucas Kasper and Javier Gomez in the semifinals, and a 6-1,
6-3 win over Perrysburg’s Konnor Massell and Alejandro Bilabrea in the finals.
In the other semifinal, Massell and Bilabrea were 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 winners over Anthony Wayne’s Todd
Guardiola and Alex Bukovinsky.
In singles, Perrysburg’s Troy Weidner finished fourth.
Weider lost 6-2, 6-2 to St. Francis; Tyler Gargas in the semifinals and 6-0, 6-1 to. St. Francis’ Louis
Fillipiak in the consolation match.
The top four finishers advanced to this week’s district tournament at Bowling Green State University.

Reese wins twice

In Attica, Lakota’s Cariss Reese won both hurdles races in the Midland Athletic League meet at Seneca
East. MEET
RESULTS

She won the 100s in 16.89 and the 300s in 49.89, and finished third in the pole vault (9-6).
NB’s Lindsay Davis was second in the high jump (5-0).
Lakota finished sixth with 68 points, and NB was ninth with 23.
In the boys meet, Lakota’s Kevin Crowe was second in the shot put (46-8½) and third in the discus
(125-8).
Lakota was seventh 35 points and NB was 11th with 15.
