Lake 21, Fremont St. Joseph 0
In Millbury, the Flyers piled up 374 total yards in offense, while holding St. Joseph to 126 total yards. Lake rushed for 251 yards.
All three Lake scores came on running plays, with Brandon Short scoring on a 6-yard run, Jared Rettig on a 1-yard run, and Nick Walsh on a 77-yard run.
Walsh finished with 162 yards in six carries. Adam Duncan kicked three extra-points and made six receptions for 97 yards.

Eastwood 33,
Patrick Henry 21
In Hamler, Eastwood out-scored Patrick Henry 33-7 in the final three quarters in its season-opening win.
The Eagles produced just 259 yards of offense, but they forced six turnovers en rout to the victory.
Eastwood quarterback Jake Schmeltz was 7-of-11 passing for 111 yards and three touchdowns.

Gibsonburg 35, Elmwood 13
In Jerry City, Elmwood lost its season-opener to Gibsonburg 35-13.
Gibsonburg’s Matt Tille threw for 190 yards and four touchdowns, while adding 55 yards on the ground.

Otsego 36, Evergreen 14
In Metamora, Cody Downs led Otsego with 204 yards of total offense including four touchdowns.
Downs passed for 122 yards and two scores, while rushing 20 times for 82 yards and two touchdowns.
Cole Gorski had two catches for 64 yards, one of which was a 59-yard scoring pass from Downs.
Otsego held Evergreen to just 137 total yards.

Ayersville 42, Northwood 34
In Defiance, Northwood’s 16 fourth-quarter points weren’t enough to complete a comeback over Ayersville.
Northwood allowed 28 second-half points after trailing 14-12 at halftime.
The Rangers totaled 450 yards on the ground, but turned the ball over five times.
Dominik Bermejo led Northwood with 137 yards rushing, including an 80-yard score. Jacob Davenport scored on a 55-yard run and added a 77-yard kickoff return for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

North Baltimore 42, Holgate 21
In North Baltimore, North Baltimore scored 21 points in the fourth quarter on the way to the win.
NB had 591 yards in total offense, including 331 yards on the ground.
Lane Bishop was 19-of-36 passing for 260 yards for three touchdowns, with one interception. He also rushed 22 times for 124 yards and two scores. Taylor Bishop has 183 yards rushing and a touchdown on 20 carries.

Lakota 38, Arcadia 0
In Kansas, Lakota’s defense held Arcadia to just 31 total yards in the season-opener.
Colin Timmons threw for two touchdowns and added another on the ground as the Raiders compiled 222 yards rushing on 29 carries.

Southview 188, BGHS 204
In Sylvania, Southview won a Northern Lakes League match at Spuyten Duyval.
BG’s scores were: Charlee Carroll, 46; Drew Peterson, Alisha Noon, both 49; and Andrea Cromley, 60.

VOLLEYBALL
Lake wins
In Millbury, Lake was a 25-13, 22-25, 25-23, 25-15 winner over Fostoria in a Northern Buckeye Conference.
Lake’s leaders were: Sydnee Behlmer, 25 assists, five digs, 11 aces, one kill; Renee Mata, 11 kills, two digs; Emma Materni, seven aces, three digs; Sara Dabney, six kills; Jessica Densic, seven kills, three digs, four aces; Kaity Walker, five kills, four digs; Courtney Maunz, 15 digs; and Peyton Marchetto, five kills.
Lake is 2-2 overall, 0-1 in the NBC. Fostoria is 1-2, 0-2.

Junior varsity results
VOLLEYBALL
Anthony Wayne beat Bowling Green, 25-20, 25-16. BG’s leaders: Brittany Finger, Stephanie Hermes, three kills each; Anna Szabo, two blocks; Maggie Vennis, eight assists; and Kinsey Kale, 14 digs.
GIRLS GOLF
Bowling Green beat Southview, 252-262, at Spuyten Duyval. Morgan Roe led BG with a 56.
