Lake's boys had three players combine for 70 points in an 89-73 non-league win over Old Fort Saturday. The Flyers are 5-0. In boys Northern Lakes League games it was: Napoleon 68, Bowling Green 56; Perrysburg 47, Southview 37; Anthony Wayne 52, Springfield 40; and Maumee 59, Northview 50, OT. In non-league games involving county boys teams it was: Gibsonburg 54, Elmwood 51; Clay 68, Rossford 50; McComb 50, North Baltimore 26; and Swanton 64, Northwood 54. In a Toledo Area Athletic Conference girls game, Northwood beat Danbury, 54-44. In a non-league girls game, Perrysburg downed Marion Harding, 77-30. BOYS Lake 89, Old Fort 73 In Old Fort, Lake scored 49 points in the second half on the way to the non-league win. Ra'Shad Smith scored 11 of his game-high 26 points in the fourth quarter for Lake. Josh Tantari and Jared Rettig each added 22 points for the Flyers. Rettig had four 3-pointers in the game and Smith had three. Old Fort, now 3-2, had five players score in double figures. Gibsonburg 54, Elmwood 51 In Jerry City, Gibsonburg out-scored Elmwood by four points in the final quarter to post a non-league Saturday. Gibsonburg is 5-0 overall and Elmwood is 1-3. Tyler Rosendale scored 24 points and had five assists for Elmwood while Aaron Arnold had seven rebounds. Nate Yarborough scored 22 points for Gibsonburg. Clay 68, Rossford 50 In Oregon, Rossford fell behind 22-8 after the first quarter in the non-league game. The Bulldogs are 1-3. Manny Durden scored 22 points to lead Rossford and Drew Brock added 13 points. Patrick Booth led Clay (3-1) with 25 points and Jack Nagy added 19. McComb 50, North Baltimore 26 In McComb, McComb out-scored North Baltimore 29-6 over the middle two quarters on the way to the non-league win. McComb is 4-1 and North Baltimore is 0-4. McComb's Dalton Buck scored 19 points and Matt Newcomer added 10. Jerry Brown had a solid all-around game for the Panthers with seven points, eight rebounds, six steals and four assists. Evan North scored 10 points for North Baltimore. Swanton 64, Northwood 54 In Northwood, Swanton out-scored Northwood 16-5 in the third quarter en route to the non-league win. Tyler Williams scored 15 points and Evan Perkins added 14 for the Rangers. Northwood is 1-3. Travis Hilton led Swanton (2-2) with 18 points. GIRLS Perrysburg 77, Marion Harding 30 In Perrysburg, Kelsea Newman tied a Perrysburg school record with six three-pointers and scored a game-high 25 points. The Yellow Jackets are 5-0. Loren Bollinger led Marion Harding (0-7) with 11 points. Northwood 54, Danbury 44 In Lakeside, Northwood improved to 3-2 overall and 2-1 with the TAAC win. Danbury dropped to 2-3, 2-1. No other information was reported. WRESTLING Four county teams compete in Lakota duals In Kansas, four Wood County teams completed in the 10-team Lakota Holiday Duals. Lakota's Ben Timmons collected his 100th career victory during the event and was named the tournament's Most Valuable Wrestler. Carey was 5-0 to win the event. Rossford was second at 4-1, Otsego and Lakota were both 2-3 and North Baltimore was 1-4. Rossford lost to Carey, 61-12, but beat North Baltimore, 72-12; Lakota, 59-17; Seneca East, 42-32; and Oak Harbor, 35-32. Otsego beat Lakota, 30-26 and North Baltimore, 54-18, but lost to Carey, 59-20 and Oak Harbor, 49-18. Lakota beat Cardinal Stritch, 41-15 and Ada, 42-36, but lost to Rossford, Otsego and Oak Harbor, 61-15. North Baltimore's win was 31-6 over Cardinal Stritch. NB lost to Oak Harbor, 60-81, Ada, 30-24, Rossford and Otsego. Eastwood takes fourth At the Bowling Green Duals, Eastwood finished fourth at 8-2 in the 20-team field. Eastwood's Casey Horn (170) and Kyle Patterson (182) both went 10-0. Other top performers for the Eagles were: Randy Caris (160), 9-1; Joe Nauman (285), 8-1; Justin Burket (132), 8-2; Bobby Brooks (192), 8-2; and Adam Wolf (220), 7-3. No other results were reported. Freshmen results GIRLS BASKETBALL Perrysburg beat Maumee, 39-4. Kayla Piezer led the Yellow Jackets with 13 points and Lauren Piezer had 10. Perrysburg beat Marion Harding, 38-10. Olivia Stout had 12 points for the Yellow Jackets, now 4-1. |
