Tyler Landis, Connor Bowen and Lake’s boys had a record-setting night in a 118-56 Northern Buckeye Conference victory over Genoa. The 118 points were a Lake record, Landis’ 40 points were a school record and Bowen’s 12 assists were a school record. The Flyers’ previous record for points was 99 set during the 1970s, and the previous record for individual points in a game was 39. The previous record for assists was not available, but Bowen broke his own record. In other boys games, it was: Elmwood 58, Fostoria 34; Rossford 65, Woodmore 56; Otsego 55, Eastwood 44; Ottawa Hills 63, Northwood 19; Old Fort 100, North Baltimore 42; and New Riegel 74, Lakota 45. In a girls game, it was: Perrysburg 60, Bowling Green 50. BOYS Lake 118, Genoa 56 In Millbury, Landis was 17-of-21 from the field, hitting 17-of-20 2-pointers and missing his only 3-point attempt in the NBC game. Landis is a 5-foot-11 senior forward. The Flyers were 49-of-76 from the field as a team. Lake made 46-of-70 2-pointers, 3-of-6 3-pointers and 17-of-25 free throws. Bowen added 20 points as Lake improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the NBC. Also for the Flyers, Cody Witt scored 18 points, and Jared Rettig and Todd Walters both chipped in with 11. Genoa was playing its season-opener. Elmwood 58, Fostoria 34 In Jerry City, Elmwood shot 22-of-40 from the field and made 11-of-12 free throws to improve to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the NBC. Elmwood’s Zach Foster scored a game-high 25 points, while Aaron Arnold added 12 points and seven rebounds. Fostoria is 0-2, 0-1. Rossford 65, Woodmore 56 In Elmore, Mack Miller scored 20 points, and Derek Mack added 19 points and seven rebounds as Rossford won its NBC opener. The Bulldogs pulled away in the third quarter, expanding a 28-26 halftime lead to 45-34. Hector Aquirre had 11 rebounds for Rossford is 1-1 overall. Woodmore fell to 0-3. Ottawa Hills 63, Northwood 19 In Ottawa Hills, Tyler Williams had 10 points for Northwood in a Toledo Area Athletic Conference game. Northwood is 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the TAAC. The game was OH’s opener. New Riegel 74, Lakota 45 In New Riegel, Colin Timmons and Kody Brewer each scored 10 points for Lakota, 2-1 overall and 0-1 in the Midland Athletic League. New Riegel is 3-0, 1-0. Old Fort 100, North Baltimore 42 In Old Fort, the Stockaders improved to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the MAL. Brock Boyer had nine points for NB (0-3, 0-1). WRESTLING Rossford posts 1-3 record In Holland, Rossford had a 1-2 record on the first day of the Springfield Duals. Rossford posted a 42-18 win over McComb, but lost to Southview (51-17), Delta (51-24) and Sandusky (70-9). The individual results were not available.
