Prep Roundup: Lake baseball beats N.Baltimore (04-03-14)

In Millbury, Lake’s baseball team collected 13 hits en route to a 10-3 nonconference victory over North
Baltimore.
For Lake, Cody Witt was 3-for-4; Connor Bowen, two singles, double; Jayce Vancena, triple, three RBI;
Brad Ackerman, two hits, RBI; Nick Walsh, 2-for-4, two RBI.
Brock Boyer had a single and a double for North Baltimore and teammate Jacob Frost added two singles.
Both teams are 1-1.
Toledo Whitmer 10, Otsego 3
In Tontogany, Whitmer scored five times in the first two innings and Otsego was held to two hits in a
nonleague game.
Collin Kitchen had a double and an RBI for the Knights, 0-2.
SOFTBALL
Northwood 19, Swanton 4
In Swanton, Northwood scored nine times in the first three innings en route to its win.
Brianna Crispen was 4-for-5 with a double and four RBI for Northwood, while Marissa Bonnette was 3-for-3
with an RBI.

Lake finishes second
In Millbury Tuesday, Lake took second place in a four-team meet (61 points) and Elmwood took third (51).

Oak Harbor won the meet with 106 points and Monclova Christian placed fourth with five points.

Otsego was second in a triangular with 49 points. Liberty-Benton won the meet with 79 points and North
Baltimore scored 28.
Otsego’s winners were: Lukas Downey in the pole vault; Marcus Easterwood in the 100; the 800 relay of
Will Gase, Joey Konrad, Nick Krabill, and Phillip McDaniel; and the 1,600 relay team of Caleb Frank,
Nick Krabill, Shane Tobar, and Stone Zimmerman.
GIRLS
Otsego finished with 77 points to win a triangular. North Baltimore was third with 21 points.
Otsego’s winners were: Candice Kleman, 100 hurdles (18.2) and 200 hurdles (34.9); Zion Richardson, 100
(12.9) and 200 (27.7); Kendra Limes, shot put (26-10); Hannah Snyder, long jump (12-9); Kenzie Wilson,
high jump (4-8); Sarah Cox, pole vault (6-0); Maureen Connelly, Wilson, Kleman, Richardson, 400 relay
(57.3); and Lucy Pullins, Julie Spencer, Felicity Jinnings, Snyder, 1600 relay (5:33).
