Prep Roundup: Lake and Lakota improve to 3-0 (9-13-13) PDF Print E-mail

Lake and Lakota both won to improve to 3-0 overall during high school football action Friday night.
Lake was a 55-6 winner over Ottawa Hills, while Lakota posted a 21-16 victory over Cardinal Stritch.
In other games, it was: Eastwood 56, Oak Harbor 7; Springfield 38, Rossford 6; Northwood 49, Woodward 26; Otsego 26, Bowling Green 23, OT; Central Catholic 35, Perrysburg 6; and North Baltimore 26, Elmwood 20.

Lake 55, Ottawa Hills 6
In Millbury, Adam Duncan returned the opening kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown to spark Lake’s rout.
Duncan later scored on a 47-yard run as Lake finished with 207 yards rushing.
The Flyers’ Jared Rettig completed 6-of-9 passes for 143 yards and TD passes of 12 yards to Marcel Bryan, 23 yards to Todd Walters and 19 yards to Brandon Short.
Bryan finished with five carries for 68 yards and Dustin Perkins ran 13 times for 67 yards, including a 17-yard TD run.
OH (0-3) rushed for 49 yards and passed for 145 yards.

Lakota 21,
Cardinal Stritch 16
In Kansas, Lakota took a 14-0 lead in the second quarter and never allowed Stritch (0-3) to tie the game.
Lakota scored on Dakota Bowling’s interception return, Colin Timmons’ 1-yard run and Jordan Jaso’s 26-yard run.
Lakota totaled 106 yards, 53 running and 53 passing. Stitch passed for 188 yards, but rushed for minus-31 yards.

Eastwood 56, Oak Harbor 7
In Luckey, Eastwood rushed for 321 of its 405 total yards to improve to 2-1.
Michael Flipse scored on a 60-yard run and an a 38-yard pass from Jake Schmeltz, and Brent Schlumbohm added TD runs of 3 and 4 yards for the Eagles.
Devin Snowden led Eastwood with 10 carries for 93 yards, including a 48-yard scoring run. Schlumbohm and Brennan Seifert combined for 119 yards rushing, with Seifert scoring on a 46-yard run.
OH (1-2) rushed for 146 yards and passed for 49 yards.

Northwood 49, Woodward 26
In Toledo, Dominik Bermejo rushed 18 times for 279 yards and three TDS to help Northwood post its first win.
He scored on runs of 53, 1 and 45 yards.
Northwood took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
Northwood finished with 547 yards rushing and 582 total yards. Jacob Davenport ran eight times for 140 yards, including TD runs of 21 of 55 yards.
Woodward rushed for 130 yards and passed for 99 yards.
Both teams are 1-2.

Springfield 38, Rossford 6
In Rossford, Elijah Todd rushed 19 times for 200 yard and two TDs, and Scott Seymour was 13-of-20 passing for 186 yards and two TDS to lead Springfield.
Rossford scored on a 10-yard pass from Kyle Sherman to Noah Asmus in the third quarter.
Springfield, which led 24-0 at the half, rushed for 360 yards.
Rossford had 37 yards rushing and 158 yard passing. Sherman was 15-of-24.
Both teams are 2-1.

BOYS
Lake 3, Woodmore 3, tie
In Millbury, Jeremy Likes scored twice and Corey Pierce added the other goal for Lake in a Northern Buckeye Conference game.
Damon Plummer, Corey Pierce and Danny Patel each had an assistant for Lake, and Vince Askins had 11 saves.
Lake is 1-6-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the NBC.
