Prep Roundup: Four teams claim volleyball titles (10-21-13) PDF Print E-mail

Bowling Green, Eastwood, Elmwood and 18th-ranked Otsego won sectional volleyball championships Saturday.
Bowling Green won in Division II at Perrysburg, Eastwood won in Division II at Fremont Ross, and Elmwood and Otsego won in Division III at Lake.
Following is a roundup of the results for country schools:

DIVISION II
BGHS beats Maumee
In Perrysburg, Bowling Green was a 26-24, 25-18, 25-19 winner over Maumee.
BG's leaders were: Maddy Dunn, five kills, 10 digs; Reagan Morman, 13 assists, two aces; and Kendal Glandorf, five kills.
The Bobcats, 10-12 overall, face Tiffin Columbian in a district semifinal Wednesday night at 8 at Findlay High School.

Eastwood tops
Port Clinton
In Fremont, Eastwood was a 25-12, 25-4, 25-9 winner over Port Clinton.
Eastwood's leaders were: Bri Hoodlebrink, five kills, six aces; Elise Wolff, 11 kills; Jaci Jurgens, 17 assists; and Mackenzie Albright, nine digs.
The Eagles (17-6) face Central Catholic in a district semifinal Wednesday night at 6:15 at Findlay High School.

DIVISION III
Otsego, Elmwood win
In Millbury, Otsego was a 25-15, 25-9, 25-6 winner over Northwood and Elmwood was a  25-18,  25-17, 25-19 winner over Delta.
Elmwood's leaders were: Amanda Jones, 34 assists, 13 digs; Madison Arnold, 13 kills, two blocks; Marissa Swavel, 21 digs; Jasmine Marsh, 13 kills, five digs, two blocks; and Ashley Veryser, eight kills.
The district semifinals are Wednesday night at the Stroh Center.
Elmwood (18-5) plays Archbold at 6:15 p.m. and Otsego (20-4) plays Evergreen at 8 p.m.

SOCCER
BOYS
DIVISION II
Rossford 3, Eastwood 2
At Lake High School, Hector Aguirre scored twice to help Rossford edge Eastwood.
The Bulldogs face Bowling Green Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Toledo Central Catholic High School.
Jared Luther, and Steven Bradley scored for the Eagles.

GIRLS
DIVISION II
Lake 4, Port Clinton 1
At Lake High School, Kauty Weis, Alexis Hansen, Caitlin Phalen, and Kayla Saffran scored for Lake.
The Flyers advanced to face Napoleon Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., also at Lake.
