Eastwood improved to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the Northern Buckeye Conference Friday with a 65-15 win over Elmwood in the annual Battle of the Woods.  PHOTO GALLERY
In other games, it was Genoa 49, Lake 35; Rossford 35, Woodmore 7; Otsego 48, Fostoria 8; Northwood 48, Danbury 19; Tiffin Calvert 49, North Baltimore 12; and Carey 57, Lakota 19.

Eastwood 65, Elmwood 15
In Jerry City, Eastwood totaled 435 yards in the game and built a 35-0 lead in the first quarter.
Devin Snowden rushed 15 times for 197 yards, including touchdown runs of 5 and 45 yards.
The Eagles passed for 387 yards and Jake Schmeltz completed 3-of-4 passes for 48 yards and two TDs. He had scoring passes of 24 yards to Michael Flipse and 15 yards to Grant Peters.
Elmwood (1-6, 1-3) had 84 yards rushing and 102 yards passing.
The Royals’ Noah Baker was 5-of-8 passing for 108 yards and one TD, a 44-yarder to Aaron Arnold. Arnold had four catches for 88 yards.

Genoa 49, Lake 35
In Millbury, third-ranked Genoa scored three straight touchdowns in the second quarter to erase a 21-7 deficit.
The Comets are 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the NBC, while Lake is 5-2, 2-2. A Lake win could have created as much as a four-way tie for the NBC lead.
Lake’s Jared Rettig completed 19-of-27 passes for 320 yards and one TD, a 77-yarder to Todd Walters.
Adam Duncan led Lake with 13 catches for 197 yards, while Walters had four receptions for 104 yards. The Flyers totaled 401 yards.
Genoa rushed for 404 yards and passed for 116. David Nutter and Casey Gose combined to rush 30 times for 283 yards.

Rossford 35, Woodmore 7
In Rossford, the Bulldogs used an 84-yard pass from John Allen to Noah Asmus and a 17-yard Allen run to take a 14-0 lead en route to its win.
Woodmore scored on a 43-yard run by Jake Matwiejczyk run to pull to within 14-7.
But Rossford pulled away, scoring three unanswered touchdowns, the biggest play coming on a 56-yard Allen run.
The Bulldogs were led by Allen, who gained 174 yards on the ground and passed for 147 yards.
Rossford is 5-3 overall and 3-1 in the NBC. Woodmore fell to 4-3, 1-3.

Otsego 48, Fostoria 8
In Fostoria, Otsego scored the game’s first six TDs.
The first three scores came via the run for Otsego, but the Knights also made big plays through the air, scoring on passes of 57 and 46 yards from Cody Downs to Cole Gorski.
Logan Hosley added an interception return for a touchdown to make the score 41-0 before Fostoria scored its only TD.
The Knights rushed for 312 yards and four touchdowns, led by Don Hardison who had 92 yards on the ground.
Otsego is 4-3, 2-2. Fostoria is 0-7, 0-4.

Northwood 48, Danbury 19
In Lakeside, Northwood built a 20-0 lead in the first half to remain undefeated in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference.
Dominik Bermejo rushed six times for 92 yards, including a 16-yard TD run. He also scored on a 64-yard pass from Michael Vallejo, who was 4-of-8 passing for 116 yards.
Vallejo also ran eight times for 81 yards, one a 6-yard TD run.
Northwood rushed for 392 of its 527 yards. Danbury had 192 yards rushing and 211 yards passing.
Northwood has won five straight games to improve to 5-2 overall and 4-0 in the TAAC. The Rangers host Toledo Christian (5-2, 4-0) for the TAAC lead next Friday.

Tiffin Calvert 49,
North Baltimore 12
In North Baltimore, Austin Ball ran for 231 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lift Tiffin Calvert to a 49-12 win Friday at North Baltimore in Midland Athletic League play.
Lane Bishop ran for 67 yards on 24 carries and completed 10-of-23 passes for 98 yards for North Baltimore (2-5, 0-4).

Carey 57, Lakota 19
In Kansas, Carey rushed for 346 yards and threw for 165 on the way to its MAL win.
Lakota was led by Colin Timmons, who threw for 250 yards, and Dakota Bowling had eight receptions for 152 yards.
Lakota is 4-4, 0-4. Carey is 4-3, 3-1.
