Prep Roundup: BG swimmers open with victories (12-17-13)

The Bowling Green High School swimming team opened its season with wins over Ayersville.BG’s
boys posted a 49-42 victory, and the Bobcat girls recorded a 108-32 win.Corey Gilbert won the 200
individual medley (2:17.22) and 100 backstroke (1:04.92) and Trae Gulgin won the 100 butterfly (1:01.57)
and 100 freestyle (55.74) for Bowling Green while Andrew Watson won the 200 freestyle (2:24.44). Gulgin,
Watson, Gilbert and Cole DeWulf combined to win the 200 medley (1:58.18).In the girls meet, the Bobcats
won six individual events and three relays.BG’s winners were: Mallory Glenn, 100 freestyle (1:00.54) and
100 backstroke (1:13.06); Emmy Sehmann, 50 freestyle (24.80) and 500 freestyle (5:12.79); Emma Cavins,
200 individual medley (2:33.15); Cate Longmore-Micham, 100 breast stroke (1:24.74); the 200 medley relay
team of Jessica Crook, Glenn, Paityn Dishop, and Larissa Leck (2:10.05); the 200 freestyle team of
Dishop, Longmore-Micham, Cavins, and Sehmann; and the 400 freestyle relay team of Cavins,
