Prep Roudup: Perrysburg baseball wins NLL opener (4-11-14)

Perrysburg baseball’s team scored eight runs in the bottom of the second inning Friday to erase a 2-0
deficit and post a 9-2 win over Northview to win their Northern Lakes League opener.
Chaz Westfall was 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, a double and a home run for Perrysburg, which totaled
13 hits. The Yellow Jackets’ other leading hitters were: Zach Honsberger, 2-for-4, two RBI; Nick
Fleming, 2-for-4, RBI; AJ Stockwell, 2-for-3, run; and Gus Dimmerling, 2-for-4, run.
Mark Delas and Stockwell pitched a two-hitter, striking out four.
Perrysburg, the defending league champion, is 3-1 overall.
Rossford 9,
Toledo Christian 8
In Rossford, the Bulldogs scored the tying and winning runs on the same wild pitch in the bottom of the
seventh to improve to 3-1 overall.
Rossford scored three times in the seventh after Toledo Christian scored three times in the top of the
inning.
The Bulldogs’ leading hitters were: Spencer Shultz, 2-for-4, two runs, RBI, double; Noah Asmus, 2-for-4,
two runs, RBI, double; and Marty Linthicum, 2-for-3, two RBI.
Cardinal Stritch 5,
Eastwood 3
In Oregon, Stritch built a 5-0 in the first two innings and held off Eastwood in a nonconference game.

Eastwood had just three hits.

In Tinora, Otsego had just three singles in a nonconference loss.
Northwood 13, Oak Harbor 1
In Oak Harbor, Myles Habel was 4-for-4 with three RBI for Northwood in a nonconference game.
Also for the Rangers, Jack Romstadt was 2-for-4 with two RBI, and Jacob Davenport was 2-for-3.

Bowling Green took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never allowed AW to tie the score in their NLL
opener.
Kelsey Parker singled twice for BG, while Emily Sidle and Hanna Williford both doubled.
Williford pitched a five-hitter.
Perrysburg 6,
Northview 5
In Perrysburg, the Yellow Jackets scored three times in the sixth and once in the seventh to win their
NLL opener.
Madison Gerding doubled in the winning run in the seventh. She finished 3-for-4 with two doubles and two
RBI.
Perrysburg rallied for the win after Northview scored all of its runs in the sixth for a 5-2 lead.

In Luckey, Eastwood scored 14 times in the first to improve to 4-0.
Morgan Getz was 3-for-4 to lead Eastwood’s 14-hit attack.
Also for the Eagles, Cassidy Rolf, Michaela Bunge and Krista Jennings all were 2-for-4.
Marissa Tudor added a home run for the Eagles, while Bunge, Jennings and Anna Rahrig all had doubles.

in Rossford, the Bulldogs had 21 hits to improve to 5-2 overall.
Rossford’s leading hitters were: Kirsten Keller 3-for-5, three RBI; Lyndsey Skala, Maggie Lahey, both
2-for-5, three RBI; Margo Jackson, 3-for-5, home run, triple, four RBI; Kelly Swope, 3-for-5, two RBI;
Jessica Kulczak, 2-for-4, three RBI; Hannah Gauthier, 2-for-5, two doubles; and Maddie York, 4-for-4,
four runs scored.
