Perrysburg junior Jeffrey Schorsch has qualified for the Division I boys state tennis tournament for the third time in three years.
Schorsch won the first district title of his career in singles at Bowling Green State University on Saturday, winning his finals match over Toledo Central Catholic’s Dugan Delp in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.
The top two finishers advanced to the state tournament, which begins Friday at Ohio State University.
Schorsch will be the top seed at state from the Northwest District. The tournament draw is yet to be announced.
This is the second time Schorsch has qualified for the state tournament in singles. He qualified for the doubles portion of the tournament last season after qualifying in singles as a freshman. Both years Schorsch was eliminated in the first round.
