Perrysburg’s Courtney Clody and Emily Wyrick each posted victories at the Division I regional track meet Friday at Amherst Steele.
Clody won the 1,600 in 5:04.89 and Wyrick won the 800 in 2:14.09.
Taylor Monheim was fourth in the 3,200 in 11:10.78 for the Yellow Jackets.
Clody, Jordan Doore, Grace Reddick and Wyrick were fifth in the 1,600 relay in 3:59.46, just missing a state berth as Rocky River was fourth in 3:59.38.
On Thursday, Wyrick, Cloudy. Monheim and Doore won the 3,200 relay in a school-record time of 9:15.62.
The top four finishers advanced to state.
The Yellow Jackets were third in the team standings with 39 points.
Bowling Green’s Maria Horrigan finished second in the pole vault, clearing 11-3, to advance. Toledo Whitmer’s Kaitlyn Barber went 11-6 to win the regional.
Horrigan was also fifth in the long jump, missing a state berth by one inch. She jumped 16-7 and the fourth place finisher, Rachel Marter of Toledo Bowsher, went 16-7 3/4.
BG’s Sasha Lanning was fourth in the 1.600 in 5:18.85 to advance.
On Thursday, BG’s Kyrha Hollins was fifth in the high jump.
The Bobcats finished 11th with 21 points.
In the boys meet, Perrysburg was 26th with seven points.
The Yellow Jackets’ Bryant Byrd was third in he 800 in 1:55.92 to qualify for the state meet.
On Thursday, Perrysburg’s Chance Santus was eighth in the long jump.

Elmwood athletes
advance to state
In Tiffin, Elmwood qualified three individuals and one relay team to the state meet.
The top four finishers advanced to state.
Lorne Strausbaugh and Aaron Arnold both had second-place finishes — Strausbaugh in the 1,600 (4:28.01) and Arnold in the long jump (21-4 1/2 ).
The Royals’ 1,600 relay team of Austin Jasso, Alex Jasso, Michael Baer and Arnold also was second in 3:29.36.
Also qualifying for state was Alex Jasso, fourth in the 800 in 1:59.56.
Elmwood had two sixth-place finishes — the 800 relay team of Austin Jasso, Arnold, Baer and Derick Mobus (1:32.80); and Arnold in the 400 (52.84).
Mobus was eighth in the 100 (11.36).
Elmwood tied for fourth in the regional with 41 points.
In the girls meet, Lakota had two state qualifiers with fourth-place finishes
Cariss Reese qualified in the 300 hurdles with a time of 46.67 and Makayla Kiser advanced in the pole vault with a height of 9-6.

Schorsch beaten
in quarterfinals
In Columbus, Perrysburg’s Jeffrey Schorsch lost in the quarterfinals of the Division I state tournament at Ohio State University.
The senior was a 6-4, 6-4 loser to Cuyahoga Falls Walsh Jesuit junior Aaron Sandberg.
Schorsch opened the tournament with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Cincinnati Sycamore freshman Alex Taylor.
Schorsch finished the season 27-2 in singles play. He was competing at state for fourth time, including a fourth-place finish last season.
