Perrysburg baseball opens Leyland Family Field with victory over Lake (3-30-13) PDF Print E-mail

PERRYSBURG — Perrysburg’s baseball team connected for 12 hits Saturday en route to an 11-2 season-opening win over Lake in the first game at the Yellow Jackets’ Leyland Family Field.
The field is located at the high school on the corner of Roachton Road and Fort Meigs Road.
The Yellow Jackets had previously played at the old high school, which houses Perrysburg Junior High on East South Boundary, next to Interstate 75.
Kyle Durham had three hits for Perrysburg, and Austin Lee, Mark Delas and Gus Dimmerling each had two.
The Yellow Jackets built a 6-0 lead over the first four innings before Lake’s Jayce Vancena hit a two-run double in the fifth.
Nick Munger and A.J. Stockwell pitched a five-hitter for Perrysburg, striking out four and walking three.
