Otsego wrestlers finish second

JERRY CITY – Genoa won the Northern Buckeye Conference tournament and overall wrestling titles Saturday.

In the tournament, Genoa finished with 161 points while Otsego finished second with 1381‚Ñ2. Rossford was
fifth with 941‚Ñ2 points, Elmwood was sixth with 93, Lake was seventh with 74, and Eastwood was eighth
with 54.
"We were not at full strength with Buddy (Limes) being out, but Genoa really wrestled well,"
Otsego coach Joe Gerwin said. "Our guys did well. We had five in the finals and three took the
championship. We placed 10 guys overall. This is a preview for the sectionals and it will be close with
Genoa again."
Otsego’s winners were: Trenton Soto (132), Jordan Hendriz (160), and Zach Zuhlsdorf (195). Austin Glosser
(145), and Collin Kitchen (170) were second for the Knights.
Elmwood’s Jacob Wise (170) and Dylan Hall (145) won league titles, as did Lake’s Damon Keister (106), and
Matt Church (120), Eastwood’s Mitchell Davidson (152), and Rossford’s CJ Ball (126).
In the final league standings, which combined the tournament and dual matches, Genoa was the overall
champion with 34 points, and Otsego was second with 29.
