Genoa was picked to win the Northern Buckeye Conference girls basketball championship in a vote of the league coaches Tuesday.

The Comets received three first-place votes and 52 total points. Genoa was one of four teams in the conference to receive a first-place vote.

The complete poll was: 1) Genoa, three, 52; 2) Lake, two, 49; 3) Elmwood, two, 48; 4) Rossford, one, 43; 5) Otsego and Woodmore, 36 each; 7) Eastwood, 13; 8) Fostoria, 11.

Elmwood is the defending league champion.
